Introducing our next artist Sasha Suvorova aka Baroque Anarchist @baroque_anarchist . Sasha is a London-based painter on the Turps Off-Site Programme 2025–2026. Her work explores post-human embodiment, mythology, fertility stigma, and the body as a shifting landscape suspended between ancestral memory and future reproductive technologies. Her current series, Entire Cosmos Within Me, brings together large-scale pastel and acrylic paintings on paper, recently presented through exhibitions and open studios across London. #turps2025 #turpsbanana #turps #turpspainters #londonartscene

Introducing painter Fidji Lapios @fidji.lapios Fidji Lapios is a French figurative painter living and working in London. At first influenced by the New Realism movement, particularly in its use of collages and images to transcend the banality of life, Fidji Lapios creates distinctive landscapes composed of imaginary scenes holding an eerie realism and that make one wonder whether these moments are part of the real world or not. Whilst Fidji Lapios’ paintings are representing real things that commonly exist in our environment, her work seeks to convey a sense of outer world that is timeless, curious, glowing and floating in between places. Rooted in the language of magical realism, Fidji Lapios poses the question of timelessness in our lived world: a state of uncertainty overcasts the scenes, seeking to reveal the ambiguity that landscapes hold with time, with ourselves and our imagination. Nor place or time specific, the works are not representations, but spaces in which the natural and the artificial meet, blur, and entangle. Drawing on the traditions of landscape painting while quietly upending them, Fidji Lapios creates scenes that hover between states — day and night, lit and dimmed, the real and the magical. Fidji graduated with MA Hons from the National Superior School of Architecture of Paris-Malaquais, France, in 2016 and has been a practising architect over the past 10 years. Images: 1. Introducing @ellcamrose_art In their most recent work, Ellen draws from dreams, literature and folklore, weaving personal stories with ancient ones. The circular frame refers to the nature of oral storytelling as a medium that allows for messages and truths to flow through time, adapt and evolve. A vivid, hyper-saturated palette helps them evoke dream-like atmospheres, merging figuration and abstraction. Luminous, shifting surfaces suggest a world slightly askew, where familiar moments feel imbued with mystery and emotional resonance. Details of paintings from 2nd slide onwards: 1. Odyssey, Oil on canvas, 80-80cm, 2026 2. After The Deluge III, Oil on wood, 30-30cm, 2025 3. After The Deluge, Oil on canvas, 30-30cm, 2025  4. Burning Bush, Oil and oil pastel on canvas, 30-30cm, 2025 5. After The Deluge II, Oil on wood, 30-30cm, 2025

Introducing @henriettastuart Henrietta’s practice explores how painting can convey the mystery and atmosphere of landscape and place. Through abstraction, she seeks to evoke a sensory and emotional connection to landscape without resorting to direct representation. Henrietta’s work investigates the underlying resonances that define a place — its layered histories, shifting present, and possible futures. Landscapes lie at the centre of our experience; it grounds us and shapes our sense of belonging. The scents that linger, the movement of wind around a corner, the hum of a motorway or the murmur of water — these elements form an intricate part of our perception of place. Landscape, in all its forms, is woven into our collective memory and identity. To view Henrietta’s work, please join us at the off-site exhibition. 16th - 23rd May. #turpsoffsiteprogramme
