What does the infrastructure surrounding us actually sound like? On Saturday @turing_texture presents Noise Archeology, a project that uses DIY copper loop antenas and @touchdesigner to capture and rematerialize the electromagnetic spectrum… turning Background noise, Wi-Fi signals, and electrical interference are transformed into a generative audiovisual cartography. It’s been a minute (well, closer to a year), but I’ve been busy building. 🛠️ I’ve been experimenting with capturing electromagnetic fields using these two DIY sensors and translating those invisible signals into @touchdesigner Swipe to see the hardware test and a little preview of the systems they’re driving. I’ll be sharing some insight and seeking some feedback on this #WIP project at the TDBCN meetup this saturday. Come say hi and nerd with us! Saturday’s our next TDBCN Meetup with a behind-the-scenes look at the work of three artists using widely different techniques on @touchdesigner : Bruno Parrot , David Gonzalez, and Nancy El Azzi 📺 Bruno Parrot @turing_texture will share recent work on magnetic field visualizers with the analog CRTV collective WizTV. This mixes TD with analog techniques for some really interesting visual outputs. 🪄 David Gonzalez @dagva.xyz will share about his developments as an audiovisual artist creating installations over many years, and about crafting a process that engages with chaos magick, artificial intelligence, and the occult. 🎛️ Nancy El Azzi @nancyelazzi will share about sonic ecologies in Lebanon, spatial audio as a language for storytelling, and emergent art practices using TD and Ableton. Stay for a beer and open projectors to casually show work, ask questions, and jam around a bit. 🍻

Pixel Symphony snippets🤳 . . On the audio side, it's been a collaboration with @velour.on . Inspired by Alvin Lucier's "I Am Sitting in a Room," we recorded digital life sounds (UI, keyboards...) and then re-recorded their playback into the room again and again. This process makes the room's acoustics audible, rescaling a usually rapid process into the 142 recordings it took for the feedback loop to die. These 142 samples are the heart and soul of the Pixel Symphony. In its final form, they are divided into 4 phases, with different states triggered by a combination of sensor data from the room and simulated social media interactions. What you hear is the ghostly echo of data, a soundscape that reveals the hidden weight and texture of our digital footprint. . Versión en Castellano . . Fragmentos del sistema A/V de "Sinfonía de Píxeles" que estamos construyendo 😍 . Para el audio, en colaboración con @velour.on , nos inspiramos en la obra "I Am Sitting in a Room" de Alvin Lucier. Grabamos sonidos de la vida digital (interfaz, teclados...) para luego re-grabar su reproducción en un espacio físico 142 veces seguidas, hasta que el eco de la habitación devoró por completo el sonido original. Esas 142 grabaciones son el alma de la Sinfonía. En su fase final, se dividen en 4 estados que reaccionan a los datos de los sensores en la sala y a la simulación de redes sociales. El resultado es un paisaje sonoro que revela la materialidad, el peso y el eco fantasmal de nuestra huella digital.

Thrilled to share my participation in the new exhibition comissioned by @betty_bigas "Eyes on Technology" ,opening on July 9th @lagaleria_by_lastcrit . I will be presenting "Symphony of Pixels v0.1". This is the first note of a larger work: a meditation on the ghostly echo of our digital lives. I invite you to an intimate listening of this first iteration, which opens the door to the future immersive installation. See you there!
