We love this renovated weatherboard home in Brunswick, VIC featured in @thedesignfiles
After living in the original space for ten years the owners needed more space for their two kids and setting them up to work from home.
With a budget of 500k working against them as covid heavily impacted the cost of everything, architecture practice @office.fora had to be incredibly inventive, working closely with the builders and fabricators to keep things on track.
One of the Office Fora founders, Alexander Wright said, ‘...the clients appreciate that the house still looks at home in Brunswick, and meets all their needs without being overly ‘showy’. Likening it to a much-loved, worn, and quality jacket. ‘It feels fresh and a bit unexpected — not in your face… It has that kind of character, rather than a pristine suit where you have to be careful how you act.’

Our Butcher’s Block range grown over the past few years and this season we’re product to introduce the new Spotted Gum Stack.
Each board is crafted from multiple pieces of Spotted Gum to create an irregular patchwork pattern, highlighting the variety of different colours this timber comes in.
We use end grain for durability with a hefty thickness that ensures stability. End grain is also much better for your knives with self healing properties that minimise the appearance of knife marks, keeping the surface smoother for longer.

As you might have noticed we only release two ranges a year, summer and winter, our focus has always been about producing less products but better. We’ve eagerly watched the home of @thedesignfiles Art Director @annieportelli and her husband Simon come together over the past four years. What started as a short term DIY job turned into a full-blown renovation where they stripped everything back to bare bones and spent all of their spare time on the tools, it was clearly a labour of love.
Inspired by nostalgic beach houses they’ve created a space where every detail has meaning, it’s decorated so thoughtfully but is far from fussy, functional and beautiful with a living/dining space that opens onto their garden (planted by Annie after she spent months pulling up concrete.)
You might notice our Pillar Table Lamp in the main bedroom, Annie believed in our products back in the early days of TS Makers and her support has meant a lot over the years. We’re so happy for one of our pieces to be part of this special home. ☺️

This mind-blowing home in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Spain was originally a 1930’s hotel.
Architects @five_oh_five_design masterfully restored the protected building, creating a space designed for living with openness and flow, rather than something museum-like.
The buildings exterior colours are carried throughout the interior, with original features being repurposed wherever possible, including marble bathroom fixtures used to create the stunning terrazzo-like flooring in the homes entrance and back patio.
It’s coherent, thoughtful and truly special, a home we’ll be seeing in our dreams. ✨
