He moved from Canada to Brussels in his mid-20s and immersed himself in the world of EU politics, civil society, and international development, but he never could quite figure out how to send a ten word email in less than an hour, so his career as a project manager was short-lived. Tristan’s comedy covers a wide range of topics through a uniquely cynical, yet playful, silly, and energetic tone. 🫡 Back in September, I stepped down from running Countdown Comedy Club. I had an amazing run there—it’s been home base for me for years, giving me the space to push myself, comedians, and the audience. Over that time, I’ve watched the comedy scene in Brussels explode, and that is so incredibly awesome. 🎤 We hosted professional comics and complete newbies side by side. We experimented with formats, some which worked (storytelling) and some that didn’t (Heckle Night. Again, sorry to those comedians who experienced the second half of that show). I grew along the way, and so did my hair. 👽 I’ve met so many comedians and audience members and I’ll always be grateful for all of you (well, maybe not all, but most). 🐣 It was always a point of pride when I got to see a comedian perform for their first time ever on the stage at Countdown. 🏋️‍♂️ I’ll still be around often enough, working out jokes and having fun. But I won’t have to annoy comedians by lecturing them on running the light, or to be stressed Tristan waiting for comedians and audience to fill the place. That makes me infinitely gleeful. ⏭️ I’ve left the show in the capable hands of @bibi_louis and crew. 📸A lot of these pictures are by @bxleirstudio . Give him a follow.

🎤 Hey all, it’s been a little while. You may have noticed things are a little quiet — normally around this time we’d be starting up our show at Au Bassin again. Unfortunately, @aubassin.be is unable to continue hosting our comedy shows. 🫡 We would like to thank them for allowing us to run shows there for the past six (SIX!) years and share with you moments of hilarity, awkwardness, and so much fun. 💗we had so much fun at this show. We’ve been able to help expand the local scene, give new comedians opportunities to perform in front of large audiences, and show professional comedians what Brussels has to offer. We’ve also grown a bit (or a lot) on the way too. 🥰 From the bottom of our hearts, thank-you to all the audience members and comedians for joining us over the years and sharing in the madness. ⏩ As for our future, we’re planning out some really fun shows and will be back soon in full force.
