A magical new story for Ashdown Forest awaits... â¨
Weâre thrilled to announce the full details and tour dates for The Big One Hundred, a brand-new programme with performances, workshops and activities, commissioned by Ashdown Forest and Wealden District Council.
Youâre invited to step into a family-friendly adventure filled with workshops, activities, and sightings of a magical new creature. Your mission: take part, uncover the secrets of Ashdownâs remarkable wildlife, collect your Explorer Badges, and earn your place as an official Ashdown Explorer!
This summer, our curious creature will journey beyond the Forest, appearing at historic sites, castles, green spaces and town centres across Wealden, bringing a touch of Ashdown magic to every corner through a series of Explorer Days and special sightings.
General release tickets will be available from 10am on 26th May.
Wealden residents can access tickets early from 10am on 18th May, sign up to our newsletter to be among the first to know.

We're very excited to announce we will be hosting Mendip Refugee Festival in Blagdon next month as part of our Humanity Club Project and @refugeeweekuk
Join us this summer at Skylark, Blagdon Baptist Chapel in Blagdon for a relaxed, family-friendly gathering that brings people together to celebrate the richness of cultures from across the globe, building a stronger, more connected local community.
Across the afternoon, Skylark will come alive with live music and performances, creative workshops, craft activities, and plenty of opportunities to get involved. Enjoy delicious food and drink and join in with garden games on Blagdon Mead.
This event is for anyone who wants to learn more, show support, and help create a warm welcome for people who are new to the area. Itâs also a space for refugees and people seeking asylum to meet local organisations, access support, and feel part of the community.

We partnered with Norfolk & Norwich Festival as part of their Connect & Create Programme to explore our new project Treekin with local primary schools đż
Across 4 days of workshops with Year 1, participants dove into the world of puppetry and natural materials, from crafting small puppets using found objects, to heading outdoors to discover Treekin, building their own sets, and finishing the week by working in groups to animate a large-scale puppet.
Led in collaboration with Norwich-based Animus Puppetry, these workshops supported the development of Treekin, which weâll be sharing a first look at during Norfolk & Norwich Festival this May đ
⨠TEABREAK is going back on the road! âď¸â
Weâre beyond excited to share that our muchâloved touring tuk tuk is heading back out across the UK this summer, in partnership with the House Southeast Theatre Network. Together with House, weâll be bringing the show to five different locations in the South East across July and August, and we canât wait to meet you there.
Before we set off, weâll be rehearsing at Triggerâs new creative space Skylark in Blagdon, and weâre so delighted to welcome our dancers @kalichandrasegaram and @divija_melally into the space to kick things off.

On Saturday 25 April, you are invited to FEASTING at Shipham Village Hall, a celebration of diverse cultures through food, music, and creativity, as part of our Humanity Club project.

Providing music on the day will be the incredible Dovetail Orchestra. Founded in 2022, the Dovetail Orchestra is a community-based music group for refugees, asylum seekers, and local musicians, with branches in Bristol and Cardiff. They create a safe, supportive space to build connections, grow confidence, and co-create music that blends diverse international styles.

Weâre also delighted to welcome back the amazing Moveable Feast for FEASTING. Moveable Feast is the social enterprise arm of the Bristol Hospitality Network, supporting asylum seekers facing destitution. Theyâll be serving delicious Cameroonian food.

We're looking for Workshop Facilitators to deliver dynamic, engaging 1hr workshops in primary schools across the Wealden District this summer
Our facilitators will act as Explorers from Ashdown Forest coming to recruit new children to protect and look after the forest and their own green spaces.

We are seeking an experienced Duty Manager to oversee live operations across this large-scale, multi-zoned outdoor event.
This role is critical to ensuring a safe, smooth and high-quality audience experience, with a particular focus on visitor flow, front-of-house coordination, and the successful delivery of activity across the site.
