The concept was to challenge the perception of an “Farm to Table” Meal. The table is the farm - insinuating a new form of hyper-locality. The long table is at grade, the seating dug into the earth, the weeds, grasses and wildflowers are the centerpiece. Chef Caroline Hahm created a multi-course meal - locally sourced and mostly from Treiber Farms itself. Flowers for the meal were planted in the table itself. Farmer and artist Peter Treiber Jr created serving platters and other accoutrements out of farm implements which will offered a contrast with the found classic white dinnerware and stainless steel utensils. In a choreographed event, 30 diners ate together - in community at the earthen table. The conceptual wellspring for “Farm Is Table” is “A New Futurist Cookbook,” a project conceived by Allan Wexler and Michael Yarinsky as a direct response to the 1932 Futurist Cookbook, a manifesto of culinary innovation by F. T. Marinetti. The project seeks to harness the provocative energy, the emphasis on innovation, and the multi-sensory focus that characterized historical Futurism, but works to redirect these potent methods towards contemporary aims: broader awareness, inclusivity, and a thoughtful re-evaluation of our relationship with food.

At The Orryn Edit, we’re constantly seeking unique experiences that feel both considered and quietly unexpected. Farm Is Table drew us in for the work’s ability to spark dialogue—set not in a gallery, but around a shared meal in a grass field on a farm. An earthen table carved directly from the land becomes both setting and source, where hyper-local ingredients, access, and the rituals of eating are not just presented, but questioned. We’re especially drawn to its ephemeral nature—an installation that exists briefly, yet lingers through conversation, memory, and the act of gathering. “Farm is Table”, conceived by Allan Wexler Studio in collaboration with Michael Yarinsky, is a temporary installation and dining environment hosted at Treiber Farms. The project operates at the intersection of landscape, food production, and spatial design. The intervention transforms the ground into both surface and structure. The table is formed directly from compacted soil, with seating carved into the earth, eliminating the distinction between furniture and site. Vegetation remains embedded within the surface, allowing planting, cultivation, and dining to coexist within a single continuous plane. The project reframes the farm-to-table sequence as a single spatial condition. Recent work on a farm truck @treiberfarms Artwork/ Design by @psthegr8 It was really fun to recreate Peter’s hand on this one. He designed the artwork and and has been using it in various capacities through out his farm stand from digital branding to screen printed and embroidered goods for his farm/ farm stand. It’s always a pleasure to work with another farm in our local area. Very excited to see this one along main road over the coming seasons.

After motoring all the way up to the East Coast, we had an amazing time in Elkridge, Md playing in an 1800's theatre and hanging with our hosts, Dustin and Alicia. We got to spend some quality time in Brooklyn with our friends Mac and Adrianna and family before our beautiful show in a Park Slope garden. Yesterday we drove out of the city and are now hanging with our friends Roy and Celia in Huntington, NY. Our next show will be at Treiber Farm in Southold, NY in their barn on Saturday night.
