Wildfire prevention starts with all of us. 🔥🌲 Before your next camping adventure, check with land managers for local fire restrictions and know the rules for the area you’re visiting. When enjoying a campfire, always use proper fire setups like designated fire rings or camp stoves whenever possible. And before you leave, make sure your fire is completely out using the “Drown, Stir, Drown, Feel” method: 💧 Drown the fire with water 🥄 Stir the ashes and embers 💧 Drown it again ✋ Feel for any remaining heat If it’s too hot to touch, it’s too hot to leave. Help protect our forests, wildlife, and communities by practicing campfire safety every time you explore the outdoors.

#TrailTipTuesday As temperatures begin to rise and we enter into “fire season” here in Arizona it’s especially imperative to not only to keep in mind the high risk our Sonoran Desert and ponderosa pine forests are in throughout this time of year especially. Every year, hundreds of thousands of acres across the state burn due to non-natural causes. For example, in 2020, wildfires burned nearly 980,000 acres of land in Arizona with more than 80% of fires being human-caused. Although it is ALWAYS important to practice #responsiblerecreation and stay fire conscious year-round, it is especially dire during these typically dry, windy summer months when conditions are just right for the next big, destructive wildfire that could have possibly been avoided. Some easy steps you can take to do your part are heeding tips like those we talked about last week, #knowbeforeyougo by checking local restrictions/closures, and use common sense when you’re out on the trail. **Photos came from various unknown sources, if you recognize any of the pictures we used as your own, please reach out to be credited**

50 volunteers. Two full dumpsters. One powerful reminder of what community can do. On April 18, the VA4WDA Earth Day Trail Maintenance Event brought together passionate volunteers for a day of stewardship in the George Washington-Jefferson National Forest. From safety briefings to Tread Lightly! education, every moment was rooted in responsibility and respect for our public lands. Thanks to strong partnerships and dedicated hands, the team made a lasting impact, cleaning up trails, protecting ecosystems, and setting the standard for sustainable recreation. Huge thank you to everyone who showed up, pitched in, and proved that taking care of our trails is a shared mission. @bfgoodrichtires Outstanding Trails @v4wda @u.s.forestservice @eastcoastoverlandadventures Can-Tain-It

On April 18, 50 dedicated volunteers came together in Cadillac to make a real difference on our public lands. Partnering with the Michigan Department of Natural Resources, this annual Adopt-A-Forest event once again proved the power of community stewardship. Over two days, volunteers contributed an incredible 450 hours removing the impacts of illegal dumping and debris. Together, they cleared out 150 cubic yards of waste, including construction materials and 53 discarded tires, restoring the health, beauty, and accessibility of these forest lands. This effort is more than a cleanup, it’s a commitment to protecting the places we all enjoy. A huge thank you to the partners who made it all possible: @michigandnr @glfwda @bfgoodrichtires Outstanding Trails North Country CISMA General Motors Off-Road Driving Team
