Is this post too sappy? I don’t care. Every mastering engineer has skills, taste, ear, equipment, and a nice room, but what I think the most valuable thing I offer you is my musical empathy. And because I engage in this as part of my practice, it brings so much richness to my life. I like this video because it wasn’t supposed to be shared on socials. I was just trying to get the full idea of this song on video before I got interrupted by my toddler, Maeve, getting home 😆 The mistakes are my favourite part. Bc I’m not performing, all my reactions are 100% candid and I just roll on. Interesting how it doesn’t seem to sully the experience and maybe even adds some entertainment to it.
