✊ AGAINST TRANSPHOBIA, GENOCIDE & MILITARISM ✊
Like her predecessor, the new Minister for Health, Jennifer Carroll MacNeill has continued to refuse to meet with us or other representative trans community organisations to discuss our demands for improvements in healthcare for our community.
We are calling for a picket of the offices of the Dept of Health on the 22nd May, the 10th anniversary of the passing of the marriage equality referendum, which supposedly signalled a more tolerant and supportive environment for queer people in Ireland.
The new Minister has an atrocious record on a whole range of issues including the genocide in Palestine and militarism/neutrality.
We invite all groups concerned with these issues to stand in solidarity with us on the 22nd.
Where: offices of the Department of Health, Baggot Street
When: 12.30pm, Thursday 22nd May 2025

Ready for this trans holiday horror red band trailer? 👀
On December 12th in @lighthousecinema , come with us on a blood-soaked sleigh ride to the conservative hometown of trans true-crime podcaster, Lola. Worried about the town’s reaction to her transition, Lola is ready to take on anyone this holiday season—but didn’t expect to be taking on a killer Christmas urban legend.
Written and directed by Alice Maio Mackay, edited by Vera Drew and starring Jeremy Moineau in her feature debut, it’s going to be a grisly holiday gathering for the Small Trans Film Club!
Tickets linked in bio! Limited tickets for trans people in need are available, email [email protected] to claim one.
Small Trans Film Club is joining @lighthousecinema ’s Naughty or Nice season on the side of naughty!
Join us December 12th to get CARNAGE FOR CHRISTMAS, the latest outing from trans film wunderkind @alice_maiomackay , the twisted tale of a trans true crime podcaster who comes home for Christmas, only to find herself embroiled in vicious murder, small town intrigue and fucked up Santa costumes.
When writing about breakthrough films in trans-authored cinema, @willowcatelyn cited The People’s Joker, I Saw the TV Glow and Alice Maio Mackay’s previous film T-Blockers — so we’re going for a full house bringing flicks by the hottest new trans filmmakers to Dublin. (And Vera Drew edited Carnage for Christmas! That’s a two for one on tgirl auteurs!)

The best just got better! 🏆
Back in May 2023 we tried a little something experimental with STFC by having short films with no soundtrack scored live by trans musicians; it was a beautiful event, and it’s something programmer @townmice has been absolutely dying to do again.
So we’re delighted to share this last minute burst of good news: Lucky audiences at BEST TRANS FILM CLUB in @lighthousecinema on November 19th will now have extra bang for their buck with a whole new short film on the roster, and a live performance by national treasure @sammycopley on the guitar. 🎶
It’s a screening, a gig, a fundraiser for @titefilmfest and a great night out all in one!
Tickets at the link in bio! 🎟️
Nothing but the best for you! 🏆
Two weeks till we screen our favourite shorts from the first two years of Small Trans Film Club, with proceeds going to Ireland’s first festival of trans and non-binary cinema @titefilmfest ! 🎬
Irish talent, historical reinvention, musical melancholy, and three of the silliest and sexiest films you’ll ever see in the cinema, it’s not to be missed. Tickets in bio!
We’re back in @lighthousecinema this October with a double bill of Jane Schoenbrun features for FRIGHTHOUSE! Tickets linked in bio! 🎟
EDIT: Free tickets are all gone!
Did you miss WE’RE ALL GOING TO THE WORLD’S FAIR when it was in cinemas? Have you, like Casey, been watching scary things alone on your computer? Is the fuzzy memory of I SAW THE TV GLOW still repeating in your head like an old VHS tape?
Writing the final draft of WORLD’S FAIR famously cracked Schoenbrun’s egg, and the claustrophobic queer idea of “building smaller worlds that you do feel comfortable in within colder ones” would go on to shape the intimate existential dread of both the debut and their sophomore feature with TV GLOW.
A feelings-first director who’s chronicled much of the emotional repercussions of transition through their films, Schoenbrun’s films have cracked open what ‘trans film’ looks like for many people, cis and trans alike — so don’t miss this double bill for a chance to watch one of contemporary trans cinema’s most acclaimed directorial voices change and grow before your very eyes.
Limited free tickets for trans people are available for each film, email [email protected] if you want one!
EDIT: ALL FREE TICKETS ARE CLAIMED! 🎟
After loading you up with hot new trans cinema at our August film club we’re throwing you all the way back to 1969, co-presenting the avant-garde classic FUNERAL PARADE OF ROSES with @dublinfilmfestival on September 29th in @lighthousecinema ! 🌹
Tickets on sale at the link in our bio, and we have limited free tickets for trans people available. Email [email protected] to get one.
Thanks to trans filmmaker @hayley.cardiff for creating the cuntiest trailer edit imaginable for this film - it’s hard to give a better endorsement than her own words, Funeral Parade of Roses is “one of the best queer avant garde films oat imo, it portrays trans identities in a way i haven’t seen before and it’s just one of the cuntiest movies ever lol :33”
🚨 PROTEST at the Dáil for TRANS HEALTHCARE 🚨
We've carried out protests, pickets, and performances. Our open letter has over 1000 signatures. We've been promised meeting after meeting, but not a single one has gone ahead. Now, we need your help.
Join us on 25th September to protest the continuous gatekeeping of trans healthcare by the NGS and HSE.
📆 When: Wednesday 25th September at 1pm.
📍 Where: Outside Dáil Éireann, Kildare Street, D02 XR20.
We will not stop pushing for a meeting with the Minister for Health. We will not tolerate the decade-long waiting lists, the invasive evaluations, and the blatant disregard for our requests and concerns. Trans people need to access necessary and gender-affirming healthcare, but we are being denied treatment at every turn.
Bring friends, bring flags, and bring noise. We're going to make them hear us.
We’re back for our second @gazefilmfest x Small Trans Film Club collaboration!
As part of this partnership we have four tickets to each of these screenings available for trans people in need - just email [email protected] (not DMs!) to claim one.
Whether you prefer romance, sex, or death, there’s something for everyone in the audience, so read on and then grab a ticket at GAZE.IE before they’re gone!
Join us on JULY 18th in @irishfilminstitute for a special preview screening of CROSSING, introduced by STFC programmer @townmice !
LINK IN BIO + email [email protected] if you’re a trans person in need of a free ticket! 🎟️
CROSSING follows various characters crossing paths in the bustling city of Istanbul, among them Lia, a retired schoolteacher looking for her estranged trans niece, and as featured here 💖Evrim💖.
Played by newcomer Deniz Dumanli, Evrim is a newly minted lawyer and former sex worker fighting for the rights of trans SWers and society's most marginalised. Evrim's generosity, pragmatism and humanity is the lynchpin each of the film's storylines connects through, and @deniz.dumanlii 's grounded performance makes her one of the most real and instantly loveable trans women recently committed to screen.
