This piece began as a chaotic mass of lines and grids assembled over a painted surface. It was then left for about 4 months to marinade. Removing it from the fridge it was lightly seasoned with printed papers and Letraset and served with a blue square. Enjoy 😁 Handmade collage on plywood. 30 x 30cm

Herewith new album artwork for some more deeply textured and sublime music by the highly talented @simonmccorry & anthéne @polarseasrecordings latest release ‘Florescence’ on the brilliant @oscarson_label label. The music is beautiful and once again combines their talents in both acoustic and electronic sound making to create a soundtrack to the dawn of the new Spring. This is the third collaboration between Simon and anthéne I have created artwork for and this time I focused on distant glows and effervescent horizons in an attempt to capture some of the spring like flora and fluorescence in the music. The artwork is a photograph - created much in the same vein as the album artwork I did for Simon’s Illusion of Beginnings and Endings on @whitelabrecs in 2021 - which if you haven’t heard you owe it to yourself to check it out. The LP comes with an art print too - an outtake from my photographic experiments and is released on coloured vinyl which is quite exciting - although these are very limited. I recently showed this artwork to some friends on the @jogginghouse discord and most thought it was a painting - but no it is just a photo with all effects created in camera with no photoshop fiddling - the only fiddling was on the included art print where I mirrored the image. As mentioned this release is limited on vinyl so if you want it go and get it.

Artwork for the hugely talented @simonmccorry latest release The Failure of Accuracy on the excellent @shimmeringmoodsrecords - available for preorder from today and limited to 50 copies - snooze and looze - link above in tree bio link thing. For this piece I used some landscape/marine paintings I had done last summer after visiting East Sussex and buying a fat paint brush from Charleston House. I mixed this up with some grid creations after a conversation with Simon about wonky sequences and the failure of accuracy which of course my work relies heavily on 😁. Go buy!

Something a little deeper and darker for a rainy Saturday afternoon in the Midlands of England. I’ve been working on a few new artworks recently for an exciting project with @synthux.academy so this little number has been festering away in the background - a creative but interesting distraction. Often with the work I make there are compositions within compositions and this collage leans into that way of thinking. I think I’m channeling my hope for some warmer weather. Another quick experiment similar to the last post - I’m not sure if this is going anywhere but with much of what I do I try not to over think it. The process of cutting things away as well as adding them to the surface has been interesting and there is an element of surprise at how things turn out.
