Join me on Thursday, 14th May, for an intimate look into the creative process behind "Where We Come From" a short film & Remix to a song I created. This project is a journey through dual heritage, community resilience, and the deep-rooted connection between Huddersfield and Carriacou. I’ll be joined by guests to discuss the film and music, exploring how we use storytelling to honour our history and look toward the future. We'll be screening excerpts and diving into the "how" and "why" behind the vision. The trailer to a little film I've been working on alongside @tomod_ called "Where We Come From" is featured in the Stories in Motion exhibition celebrating the culture, communities, and stories of Kirklees, showcasing films and moving image works. Stories in Motion is part of @culturesof_ Film, the place-based research festival from @ahhuddersfield that is a celebration of film as a tool for investigation, exploration, community action and telling stories of change. The full film explores my dual heritage, identity and coincidence connecting Huddersfield and Carriacou through storytelling, music, collaboration amplifying diaspora voices and celebrating cultural roots on both sides of the Atlantic.
