🥳 BBC RADIO 4🥳 with the one and only @lauren_pattison@bbcradio4
Radio 4 listeners are in for a treat with the announcement of a brand-new four part sitcom co-created by two-time Edinburgh Comedy nominee Lauren Pattison and award-winning writer/performer Tom Machell produced by Candle & Bell.
Tom and Lauren Are Going OOT, pokes fun at the battle any partnership faces when given a fifteen minute time limit to leave the house. Someone has messed up and it’s never you, right?
The show will be both written and performed by Lauren and Tom. Lauren has established herself as a rising star of the comedy scene and has two nominations under her belt at the prestigious Edinburgh Comedy Awards. Tom is an award-winning writer and actor known for Vera, Hullraisers, The Emily Atack show and Emmerdale. Katharine Armitage ( Big Finish, zazU) will be performance director. The show will be recorded at the Pride Media Studios in Pelaw, where Candle & Bell is based, and is being exec produced by Steve Doherty (Have I got News For You and Never Mind the Buzzcocks).
“To say we are chuffed to bits is an understatement - we’re both so proud and passionate about the North East so to be able to make a show in and about the place we love is incredible.” said Lauren Pattison, a sentiment echoed by Machell “We are really excited to jump into the world of this show, working with Candle & Bell has been a blast so far. Being able to make a show set in Newcastle made by Geordies is a dream come true.”
“We’re very excited to be working with Tom and Lauren on this show, and we can’t wait to bring this hilarious story to the airwaves. It’s our first commission for BBC Radio 4 and we really feel it could be the start of something special.” said Zahra Zomorrodian, head of comedy for Candle & Bell.

A huge thanks to @fnafilms@candleandbellfilms@stephamoore@holliemaywilson@unitedagents for making this possible ❤️❤️
We're delighted to introduce our new series, Nourishing Grief.
Hosted by @madshalffull , this series creates a space to explore what support can look like in grief - because we recognise that it doesn't come with a set menu of options.
In our first episode, Maddie is joined by @tommach , who shares food-related memories of his stepdad. Together, these conversations gently explore self-care, memory, and the small things that can help us through grief.
The full episode is available to watch on our YouTube channel (link in bio).
Keep talking x
