NYJO returns to Love Supreme Festival this July!
Celebrate the 100th anniversary of Miles Davis’s birth with a fresh look at his iconic bebop classics. NYJO's Emerging Professional Musicians honour this moment with a special nine-piece band, debuting fresh new arrangements from lead trumpet NYJO's own Tom Stringer alongside historic repertoire from the iconic 1957 album Birth of the Cool.
Band leader @tom.stringer_ says :
"This project is a really exciting opportunity to honour the legacy and music of one of the most important figures in Jazz still to this day. Miles Davis was a pioneer and a stronghand in developing foundations that Jazz across the globe still stands on."

We will be mostly playing music from albums in which the great Oscar Peterson collaborated with the 2 of the greatest trumpet players, Clark Terry and Louis Armstrong.

He’s performed at top venues like Vortex and Pizza Express Jazz Club with NYJO, and recently wowed audiences at a sold-out debut at MAP Studio Cafe.
