Opening in Hong Kong tonight! So much preparation, so much looking forward to welcoming you in the next few days 😍 Thank you @bohemiankismet & @ocularmusic for showing us around and some amazing food experiences & of course @to.klein & @hong_zeiss for making it possible! Opening March 24, 6pm March 25 - 31, 2026 12pm - 6pm Major Pop Art G/F, 54 Sai Street, Sheung Wan Hong Kong An excerpt from @paulfeigelfeld : Fundamentally ‘principle’ (li 理) and material force (qi 氣) cannot be spoken of as prior or posterior. But if we must trace their origin, we are obliged to say that principle is prior. However, principle is not a separate entity. It exists right in material force. Without material force, principle would have nothing to adhere to. – Zhu Xi, Collected Conversations 1:11 [tr. ‘Principle’ (li 理) is endowed in me by Heaven (Tian 天), not drilled into me from outside. – Lu Jiuyuan, Complete Works 1:6 [tr. Tobias Klein (Hong Kong) and Hong Zeiss (Vienna) complement and contradict one another like microcosm and macrocosm. In their first joint exhibition, Klein’s reinterpretations of ancient Chinese scholar’s rocks (供石, Gongshi)—forming frameworks of stone and 3D-printed structures—encounter the veining and grain of Zeiss’s paintings, whose scale and distance—whether near or far—remain perpetually ambiguous. Although they did not arise through direct exchange, the works examine one another on a structural level and open up dimensions of non-human perception to each other. The mutual observation between objects and images affords us a rare glimpse into the exile of the inorganic: into tidal currents and mineral structures that are in fact inaccessible to us—if not even forbidden. We become clandestine witnesses to processes of communication that elude our understanding of what communication is; processes measurable only in geological epochs or beyond time itself; and whose true qualities lie beyond meaning and beyond the senses as we know them. #zellervanalmsick

SIGGRAPH ASIA 2025 December 2025  The SIGGRAPH Asia 2025 Art Gallery, hosted in Hong Kong, will present cutting-edge artistic works at the intersection of art, science, and emerging technologies. Under the theme “Generative Futures: Continuous Becoming,” we invite artists, researchers, technologists, and cultural practitioners to explore the evolving landscape of generative art and its cultural implications. This exhibition highlights the unpredictable and evolving aesthetics that define generative systems, creating a space for dialogue, experimentation, and critical engagement with this ever-transforming artistic domain. In collaboration with Victor Leung @pokyinvictorleung , Orbital Oscillation was exhibited. Orbital Oscillation is a kinetic sculpture exploring the phenomenology of time through the imperceptible actuation of a hand-blown glass object. The work presents a glass sphere rolling in slow, deliberate orbits on a minimalist table, its motion appearing autonomous yet precisely orchestrated by hidden robotic mechanisms beneath the surface. This concealment of technical agency—achieved through silent tilting actuators, real-time feedback control, and load-cell sensing—creates a perceptual tension: viewers witness motion without causality, inviting reflection on the relationship between visibility, agency, and expectation.

Cloud Rock Series 2025 Cloud Rock is part of the Cloud Rock series and is based on found Scholar Rocks. Scholar Rocks are highly sought-after artifacts in Asian culture. In Japanese Culture, suiseki (水石) or in Chinese Gongshi (供石), both have in common that they are found rocks placed in a crafted base. The complementary human craft amplifies the natural beauty of the rocks. Their shapes are the result of millennia of natural erosion and slow transformation juxtaposing the fleeting notion of the man-made artifact. Together their geometrical and narrative complexities form a microcosm for human reflection and interpretation. Cloud Rock I is made from two natural rocks excavated in the Guangzhou region of Southern China. The rock is held in a base that forms around the 3D-scanned rock. The base is a stainless steel, 3D printed using Selective Laser Sintering(SLS). The rock floats above the base, held by a series of tendril-like extensions.

🔊 A deeper dive into Tobias Klein and Alvaro Cassinelli’s “Kunst.Werk.Stein.Schlag (KWSS)” works. In this collaborative work, Alvaro contributed by activating Tobias’s artworks through responsive mechanisms that reveal or amplify their already latent narratives. In “Kunst.Werk.Stein.Schlag (KWSS)”, miniature sophisticated electronic thumpers prolong the work of natural erosion. The artificial aggressors cover the surface of the rock, kicking its surface and producing a sound reminiscent of industrial mining - however, an effective modification of the shape would paradoxically take geological times. Similarly, “Sternwerk” emerged from passionate discussions about the impossibility of the human mind to grasp the cosmic scales that shape the universe. The work exposes the shortsightedness of technological acceleration and the pretentious exploitation of celestial labour: a billions-year-old meteorite has been enslaved by the machine, forced to serve as a heatsink while a cheap microcontroller mines bitcoins—a process that would itself take this contraption billions of years to complete as the process resets when a drop falls from the rock. - “MORPHOLOGY—Peter Nelson and Tobias Klein (in collaboration with Alvaro Cassinelli)” is on view at Hanart TZ Gallery through January 24, 2026. - Video: ©️Hanart TZ Gallery #TobiasKlein #AlvaroCassinelli @to.klein @alvarocassinelli
