Moonsick Grins at @tmp_space Opening: 24.04.2026, 18:00 — 21:00 74 Mikheili Tsinamdzghvrishvili St, Tbilisi Dagny Juel — writer, translator, and pianist — remains a mysterious figure in history. Numerous myths and stereotypes have surrounded her: she is often called Munch’s muse, while her other accomplishments are forgotten, and the details of her murder often contradict one another. Her life ended prematurely, at age 33. She was killed by her lover in 1901 in Tiflis, at the Grand Hotel in the city center. He subsequently took his own life. This tragic event was immediately shrouded in legends: some believed it was actually a double suicide, others thought it was a contract killing orchestrated by her husband, Stanisław Przybyszewski. The story of Dagny Juel is the core of this exhibition. It brings together works that engage with details connected to this history: feminist optics, the representation of women in culture, fin de siècle imagery, detective narrative, and more. On March 27, we invite you to an exhibition-mediation of the collective project Handle with Care. (Georgian and russian language in comments) Handle with Care is both an exhibition and an ongoing series of mediations that approach the family archive as a space of personal and vulnerable memory. The participating artists present archival objects alongside various forms of engagement with them. These works are assembled into a travelling suitcase that moves between cities and countries, hosted by friends, local institutions, and communities. Through its encounters with each context, the suitcase gathers new voices — artworks, responses, and personal items contributed by participants. In each city, a new artist joins the project. In Tbilisi, this will be Guram Tsibakhashvili @guramtsibakhashvili who will also take part in the mediation and present his work. Ahead of the event, we invite you to look into your own family archive. You may come across a photograph or document that you would be willing to share during the mediation. See you there! Fast — Slow. Perception in Two Tempos A Solo Exhibition by Roman Savchenko 🗓 March 5 — 22 Opening Reception: Thursday, March 5 | 19:00 — 21:00 📍 tmp_space, 74 Mikheili Tsinamdzgvrishvilis St Roman Savchenko is an artist working with painting, drawing, and digital media. The exhibition presents more than 50 new graphic works — abstract improvisations the artist defines as “two-dimensional music.” In his practice, visual structures exist in the gap between a recognizable image and pure geometry. Savchenko is interested in the moment perception shifts — that fraction of a second when the brain is ready to assign meaning to an object but has not yet fixed it. This metaphorical superposition keeps the image fluid and open to interpretation. Building on this approach, the exhibition proposes fast and slow modes of viewing, confronting the automatism of digital consumption with the conditions of prolonged contemplation. The project invites the viewer to experiment with their own optics, where the primary subject of inquiry becomes the very mechanics of vision. Curator: Evgenia Pavlova
