“Now is now”, 2026
Textile, hand printing with typographic ink, embroidery, 40x20 cm
The references for this work came from family archive photographs and personal experiences during this current period of my life. This textile book is a reflection on the fear of loss — the fear of forgetting important moments as they happen now, of holding onto and recording phrases spoken by my parents. It is my only way to capture these things through a visual language, because speaking about this subject in words still feels too difficult.
Perhaps that is why all my work returns to the same themes: memory, family, my ancestors, and a conscious awareness of change — in myself, in the emotional stability of my childhood home, and in the people closest to me today, even those with whom I am no longer as close as we once were.

What a warm and thoughtful reception we had in Hochheim last Sunday! Thank you, dear Valerij Ledenev @valerijledenev for opening doors for us, and to the Book Salon Community for your thinking and feeling space! A special thanks goes to Ludmila Mozgovaya for preparing super-tasty Napoleon cake. The food knowledge she brought with her became an everyday reminder of our ability to adapt for the whole family.
In Hochheim, two artists joined our project: Anna Malgina @annaamalgina with “Poisoned Dress” 2017–2024, and Ani Ba @___aniba___ with “Grigor Narekatsi 03” 2021.

A Poisoned Dress

A Poisoned Dress (or the Limits of Gratitude for Hospitality) begins with an invitation. I brought a friend into my home. She slept under my roof, ate at my table, listened to my happiness. While I was putting my baby to bed, she licked my husband’s fingers.
The next morning, I photographed her. We spoke about friendship. About love. About how lucky I was. Three months later, I was diagnosed with Major Depressive Disorder. At night, I killed her over and over again in my dreams. In reality, she replaced me - she took my position, my spaces, parts of my life, as if nothing had happened. Gratitude continued. Politeness survived where loyalty didn’t.
This project is built from that fracture. From images taken before I knew, and images taken after I could no longer unknow. The photographs do not change, but their meaning rots. Every gesture becomes evidence. Every memory is contaminated. I don’t believe in erasing betrayal. I am interested in what it does to the body, to perception, to time. In how love, humiliation, and violence can exist in the same frame. This work is not about forgiveness. It is about looking directly at what remains when trust is gone - and refusing to look away.

Handle with Care is both an exhibition and an ongoing series of mediations that approach the family archive as a space of personal and vulnerable memory.
The participating artists present archival objects alongside various forms of engagement with them. These works are assembled into a travelling suitcase that moves between cities and countries, hosted by friends, local institutions, and communities. Through its encounters with each context, the suitcase gathers new voices — artworks, responses, and personal items contributed by participants.
In each city, a new artist joins the project. In Hochheim, two artists will take part: Ani Ba @___aniba___ and Anna Malgina @annaamalgina

BEYOND THE METHOD is a day-long gathering where artists, researchers, and practitioners share how they work. This first edition focuses on vulnerability and connection.
Across three blocks of presentations, screenings, and open discussion, participants explore what it means to engage with inherited trauma and feminist genealogies, to practice within states of fear and anxiety, and to approach the body as a site of knowledge.

(concept in Armenian language) «Զգո՛ւյշ, փխրուն է»՝ քոչող ցուցահանդես և մեդիացիաների շարք, որը փորձում է իմաստավորել ընտանեկան արխիվը որպես անձնական, խոցելի հիշողության տարածք։ Արտաքինից սովորական ճամպրուկը տեղափոխում է (սկսած 2026 թվականի փետրվարից) վեց առարկաներ, որոնք ոգեշնչված են Լիլիթ Մաթևոսյանի, Գյուլշատ Գուբայդուլինայի, Վ-Լ-Վ-Շ-Մ-Դ-ի, Վլադիմիր Սելեզնյովի, Կատյա Սելեզնյովայի և Դենիս (Գաֆիաթուլլին) Վոլկովի ընտանեկան արխիվներից։
Ճամպրուկը շրջում է քաղաքներով և երկրներով, հյուրընկալվում է ընկերների, տեղական հաստատությունների, համայնքների կողմից։ Նրանց հետ փոխհարաբերվելով՝ ճամպրուկը մասնակցության է հրավիրում նոր ձայներ՝ արվեստի գործեր, մեդիացիաների մասնակիցների արձագանքներ, անձնական իրեր։ Ճանապարհորդության ավարտին այս նյութերը կցուցադրվեն Գերմանիայում՝ Մայնի Ֆրանկֆուրտում կայանալիք եզրափակիչ ցուցահանդեսին։
Սահմանափակ տեսանելիության և պաշտոնական գաղափարախոսությունից դուրս լինելու շնորհիվ՝ արխիվային պատկերները առավել, քան այլ լուսանկարներ, օժտված են անձնականի ներկայության հնարավորությամբ։ Նրանք ազատ են ենթարկվել կամ չենթարկվել հիշողության նորմատիվ սցենարների պահանջներին՝ պահպանելով փորձը, որը նախատեսված չէր հանրային հայացքի համար։ Այդ պատկերների արժեքը հաճախ սահմանափակված է ընտանիքի շրջանակներով, բայց հենց նրանց «անտեսանելիությունն» է, որ դաշտ է բացում մեկնաբանությունների, պատմական երևակայության և կորսված կամ դուրս մղված պատումների հետ աշխատելու համար։
Նախագիծը կառուցված է երկու փոխկապակցված գաղափարների շուրջ։ Անընդհատ համալրվող արխիվային հավաքածուի ճամպրուկային ճանապարհորդությունը և տեղափոխության գործընթացի դիրարկումը՝ որպես մարդկային կապերի ենթակառուցվածքային հետազոտություն։ Ո՞վ է կարող թույլ տալ իրեն ունենալ արխիվ։ Հիշողությունը պահպանելու և փոխանցելու ո՞ր ձևերն են հանրամատչելի կամ անհնարին։ Ո՞րն է արվեստագետի դերը հիշողության այդ պրակտիկաներում կամ դրանց վերաիմաստավորման մեջ։ Թիմը՝ Լիլիթ Մաթևոսյան, Գյուլշատ Գուբայդուլինա, Վ-Լ-Վ-Շ-Մ-Դ-ի, Վլադիմիր Սելեզնյով և Կատյա Սելեզնյովա, Դենիս (Գաֆիաթուլլին) Վոլկով, Իրինա Դենկման Համադրող՝ Իրինա Դենկման
