Last Night at the Rue Bayou, the Musical! 🎶😍
@ruebayouthemusical
I especially loved the immersive nature of this piece. The colors, the lights, the sounds, and the joy surrounded you from every direction. It felt like a celebration of a place I have come to love so much, New Orleans, and the spirit that makes it unforgettable.
What moved me most was seeing the vision of director Tracey Lee
@tleeandnem so vividly realized. She has followed this show from its earliest beginnings in New York City all the way to New Orleans, and her intentional, focused, and deeply loving stewardship is felt in every moment. There is care in the details, confidence in the storytelling, and heart in the way this world has been brought to life.
Wait until you hear the voices of this ALL LOUISIANA cast!! 👀⚜️
Last Night at the Rue Bayou invites you into a sensuous, sultry world of music, mystery, and magic. A Southern Gothic tale that is:
A love story
A redemption story
A fight for justice story
…all spiced up with a little ghost story. 👻
The venue is at Storyville Music Hall (formerly Margaritaville/BB King’s). The set director (
@setdesignerraguel ) chose such a great location that aligns so well with the tale.
