Our Graffiti and street art class @lfkampala this week was about visualizing on paper words & pictures we will be spraying on boards next week. So much power in letting students get hands on, try it out on paper before the big boards, think about the messages they want to communicate through their art and visualize it. 🌎 #graffiti #urbanArt #ImaginationCircle #Education #internationalschool

Inside the Bgirls workshop I held at @sweetchampsdancesportclub , part of #breakfastjam workshops week. We had 10+ young, active and emerging female breakers from Kampala and surrounding communities attend the bgirls workshop. Because the current number of active bgirls is still low, this session intended to bring active bgirls face to face and facilitate sharing. We covered areas like proper warm up & stretching, floor-work foundations, concepts, various effective exercises & practices and finished off with a discussion. 📸 @tinytrix #bgirls #breakers #Female #girls

Last Saturday at our ongoing breakdance & creative development project in Namuwongo slum, Kampala. Beyond the environment and all those things we can’t influence/change, we are constantly communicating and demonstrating to the young people to work on themselves; learn, develop, grow, share, show up every session day, make good choices, support each other, be kind, put efforts, work on their basic nature. We provide 3 classes every week - focusing on building creative skills, nurturing useful strengths & abilities and developing 21st century skills. Interested to donate, sponsor, collaborate? DM. This week in our Art fusion co-curricular class at @lfkampala , we learned about and explored abstract faces (and concept in general). Our primary & secondary students taking part in this activity went all in; got handy, challenged themselves to imagine, use various recycled materials, look deep into their perceptions and bring something out. Often we tell young people to think outside the box and be creative, but do we set the right environment for that?. #ImaginationCircle #EFIK #Uganda #creativity #ExtraCurricular

Students in our graffiti & street art enrichment activity @lfkampala getting busy spray painting. One of the key strengths we grow within learners in this is activity is self expression! More so, communicating messages non verbally and to a wider community. #graffiti #streetArt #spraycans #boards #paint #painting #Art #culture #hiphop #hiphopEducation #arteducation #ImaginationCircle #youngPeople #EFIK #students #informalEducation #school #FrenchSchool #lfkampala
