Mike Lawler is a piece of garbage. This man refused to answer questions asked by his constituents and removed anyone who disagreed with him. Our cheeto in chief uses worse language than these people did and they were removed from talking to their representative.
My aunt sent me this video of a PUBLIC town hall that they went to over the weekend. That brave, kind, badass veteran at the end? That's my uncle. And he's 100% correct- you cannot take away freedom of speech just because you dont like what is being said.
It's time to remind our representatives and the police that they. work. for. us.

This photo is from 10 years ago on Oct 30, 2015. The day after I officially went no contact with my parents. I can see it in my face: the exhaustion, the puffiness from crying. I have no photos from Oct 29. I was so overwhelmed with work and school and getting ready for my late night flight home to NYC. I had multiple breakdowns in my office, crying under my desk, all caused by things my biowaste was saying and doing that day. They were still upset I hadn't called to thank them for sending a birthday card ON my birthday, during which I wasnt even home to receive it because I was staying at a friend's house to take care of her post surgery. The present inside? Coupons clipped from magazines to stores I did not even shop at.
On Oct 29, I got an email that because of this, they would no longer be paying the loans they forced me to take out, or the phone bill and insurance I needed covered in order to afford grad school. This was the final straw: money. I know it sounds silly. At the end of the day, I realized no parent who actually loved me would do such a thing. Something so selfish, so cruel, so heartless to their child who was struggling on so many levels. So I sent an email back.
"If I have learned anything from you in this lifetime, it is that I do not need anyone, particularly parents, to survive and thrive. This situation has solidified what our relationship will become from this point onward. Once these transactions have been completed, our relationship will be terminated."
Making that decision is one of the things I am proudest of doing. The only thing I am prouder of is how I have used the past 10 years. To heal, to learn, to grow, to explore, to love. To become who I was meant to be. Happy. Wild. Free. Proud. Alive.
