Makers of Melbourne: Nima, Street Artist, Melbourne, 2019.
“Everyone who has a piece of my art has a piece of my heart.”
- @nimajamishi Melbourne Street Artist
July 2019, 9pm-ish - Melbourne. I was walking back to the train station when I saw a well-lit alley in the middle of darkness. (Note: Shops in Melbourne close as early as 6-7pm. So it was very unusual for me to see anything open beyond that time). Of course, I was intrigued. I entered the alley and there I saw Nima and @__smoe___ . I was instantly amazed and attached. I can’t let go of this moment without being documented. So I asked if I could create a film for Nima.
He was so passionate and game - he said yes. I immediately went back to my hostel to get my camera. Thank you Nima for sharing your story!! 💖
And now I present to you - the outcome of life’s serendipity wahahahahah #cheesy
PS. Of course - I went home with a commissioned artwork!!! It is now displayed at home 💖
Makers of Melbourne: David Booth - Artist and Illustrator, Melbourne, 2019.
You can’t stay in the same place. Don’t follow the rules. Do your own thing. - David Booth @ghostpatrol , Melbourne-based artist, July 2019.
I met David through @carla_mcrae . They were both in Belgrave for their month-long residency. I really learned A LOT from him even if we only interacted for a few hours. Our topics were very random - ranging from politics, Melbourne life, where to buy prisms, to babybel cheese. Hahaha. I was able to witness his fun, rebellious, crazy, and forever curious side - yet always full of wisdom. I will never forget our conversations David. Thank you for being so generous with your thoughts and time. If only I could have 1/4 of your brain and talent! Hahaha. ✨✨
PS. Thank you for letting me play with your art from your website. 💖
