Last month I returned to The Donkey Wheel House Building to paint a mural for the nice big open space that is seeing a lot of dance practice at the moment. It’s a really special building with many great things going on. I was really pleased to connect with the good neighbours at  @jumpleft_art.co.lab and @_the_intersection_ I hope my painting is inviting and calming as it wraps around the room and moves your eyes to trace the platypuses swimming through it all. So happy to share our new collaborative mural for Eat. SC, a new eatery at the @unisc.australia Sunshine Coast campus. We wanted to pack this mural with loads of references to its location on the beautiful Sunshine Coast, with nods to iconic wildlife, plants, landmarks and some retro throwbacks too (smiley SunBus logo and faded frangipani stickers on car windshields, anyone?). It was super fun to have an opportunity to ponder and draw on all the things we love about this place and we hope the space offers a refreshing moment to recharge while studying. 🏝️ Big thanks to Jessica for making this project happen and to @h_gg_r for project management and support. Casting A Platypus Protection Spell I have a new drawing that’s part of the Australian Fauna exhibition opening today at @superwow.gallery on the Sunshine Coast in Queensland. My experience as artist in residence at Yarra Valley Grammar last year was so positive! I’m still buzzing from it. I worked on 2 big projects with the senior and junior school. I was overwhelmed with the standard of work I witnessed the students producing and I felt supported by a really positive and talented staff. More of this please 😁 📷 @phamstapham If we can draw it - we can share it If we design it - we can build it If we love it - it will love us back. The ADT building is the home of creative minds and there’s a special energy in this building. We’re making beautiful things, we’re expressing our selves, drawing our dreams and designing the future. As the resident artist I’ve observed a special enthusiasm and a high level of skill emanating from this building. I’ve created three large heroes to carry the Yarra Spirit forward to take on the challenges of future. I truly believe that the combination of skills acquired and exercised in this building will change the world for the better. As we climb or descend the stairs I hope these characters inspire joy and spark curiosity. Let’s draw our ideas, let’s look up close, let’s invent new tools while we connect and care for each other.
