Cornwall on Fire!! Maybe one of the best days wavesailing we have had at this particular spot in Cornwall! With a massive 5m @16 secs swell set for last Saturday, any wavesailor in UK was setting their Sat Nav for the Bluff in St Ives Bay. Remember the epic conditions at the @redbullstormchase , well this was similar but sunny and warm all day! I made it down the previous evening and got a warm up session at Gwithian, but even that was full tilt, as heavy as Gwithian gets and just firing!! I started the Saturday pretty chilled with a Sauna in Hayle Rivermouth, little did i know that in this same rivermouth we'd be hitting 10-12ft barelling lips 5 hrs later!! Arriving at the Bluff it was nuking and by the time i had rigged my @duotone.windsurfing 4.5m Super Hero DLab and grabbed my trusty 94L Ultra Grip Quad DLab the waves had tripled in size! I love these days, do or die conditions, with all the boys out you had to give it everything! Big Wednesday!!! Cheesy, predictable, but the title did what it said on the tin! Maybe not XXL Ireland big but as big as this spot can handle and still be epic! We had sunshine all day and a balmy 9 degree air temp in Feb, my @ion_international wetsuit was if anything too warm, a rare luxury this time of year! Some memories of waves in my head and bowls that will live in my head for life! My gear was literally perfection, these are the days that matter, if your gear does not perform then you won't get a day like this again for maybe a lifetime! Chose my 94L @duotone.windsurfing Ultra Grip Quad DLab and 5.0 DLab Super Hero, i felt like all i had to do was put myself in the right spot and not worry about my gear! Happy New Year 2026..And already best Road Trip of the Year!! 😉 New Years Day 3am wake up (ouch!) and straight on the road for 7 hrs chasing a pretty hefty North Sea swell but with the lowest temps of the year 1-2 degrees! I was prepared though, heater in my van all fixed and my new King Size Bed in back (was epic) and of course my brand new @ion_international Hooded Winter suit! Sailing on my own is never something i like doing, its not exactly safe and not as much fun, but yesterday i had no choice. It was pretty big, well over mast high and just reeling! I forgot my laptop to transfer any pics so only got this one of the back of the GoPro. Was using my @duotone.windsurfing 94 UltraGrip Quad DLab and 4.7 Dlab Super Hero. It really is Gods Country on the North Sea coast, i love it up here, every point you turn its stunning! Always a sad day New Years Day, our Dad passed away 2 years ago on this day, so i always like to get away from it all and go on a road trip just like he loved coming on with us all! He'd have loved this one! Love you Dad xxx Hope you all have a peaceful and windy, wave filled 2026 ❤️
