An incredible winter season in Ireland has wrapped up, and I’m finally back home in Klitmøller! I had so many unforgettable sessions that I don’t even know where to begin, so I’m just dropping some of my favourite shots from the trip. Now my eyes are glued to the forecasts, waiting for the next dose of that Cold Hawaii magic! 💨🌊💥🥳

Spring always blows me away with those longer, brighter days. Even rainy Ireland gets the sun sometimes! 😜
Conditions have become less consistent lately, but still lots of fun sessions! 🥳
Believe it or not, it’s now day 52 of non-stop conditions 🍀💨🌊💥🥳
If you wonder what criteria I use, I count days with waves no smaller than chest high, but so far we haven’t even had a single day under head high!

Day 40 of non-stop conditions 🍀💨🌊💥🥳
Today (pictures 1-3) was a change of pace - light side-offshore winds and clean beautiful waves, finally back to conditions where you can relax and just have fun on the water! 🥳
The past days were quite demanding and were more about surviving! 😅 It was full blown low pressure weather with massive waves, strong currents and extremely shifty winds!
Sunday (Picture 4-5) had some of the strongest winds I’ve sailed in a long time, in fact I had to abort as it became unsailable with water starting to fly!
Then there was the biggest swell of the year so far (picture 6-7) with massive high period waves that even broke in the safe haven channel with huge whitewater avalanches rolling through! 🌊💥
Also on one of the massive days a while back the wind died and I got caught in a rip with my gear unable to get washed in. After 15 minutes relentless pounding and not getting washed in, I thanked the almighty for a gust of wind that enabled me to waterstart and get back to land! (Picture 8 is from this day). Today is day number 34 of non-stop action and delivered a session that felt equal parts punishment and reward! A raw, cold north-westerly tore across the North of Ireland. The well-shaped powerful waves made every run worthwhile! 💨🌊🍀🥳

Today we entered a more radical part of the cycle, windy, raw, rainy, grey and a reminder that we are still in the winter season!
Massive sets came through, some a fair bit bigger than the ones in the pictures. So lots of adrenaline in the blood today! 😛
Low pressure day number 15! 💨🌊🍀🥳
Today was the biggest so far! I ventured out to the most westerly point of Ireland where the Atlantic swell touches land first. It was bigger than expected and with no channel there were some hairy moments getting out! 😅

Now on day 12 since the return of the low pressures and today was really special! 🌊🍀🥳
We had a very rare guest all day, the sun! ☀️ Plus good swell and an offshore breeze making it an epic playground for SUP!

Thank god the days are getting brighter! I just managed a quick session before dark at one of my favourite spots and boy was it fun!! 🥳
