🪢Meet our Third Artists of TASTE Bristol🎭 @tim_lytc Artist duo and couple Pretty Girl Ping (TIM LYTC and D) met at Bristol University, and have been producing and directing theatre together since 2014. They often combine their love for partner dancing and sensual rope, and will be bringing their debut rope dance act to TASTE. TIM LYTC is a Hong Kong born multi-disciplinary dance artist, working with multi-dimensional layers of ancestry and queerness. TIM plays with ideas of the body through gendered and de-gendered lenses; bringing transformative, genderqueer joy through movement to the stage. D is a British-Chinese Gestalt therapist and theatremaker. They are trained in Betty Martin’s Wheel of Consent, and the Right Use of Power. They have a long-standing interest in the body, movement, pain, pleasure, power and the erotics of being seen. 📍 @thejamjar_bristol 🗓️ Wed 20 May 2026 Scan The QR Code And Grab Your Tickets at HEADFIRST❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥 #Bristol #ESEAartists #Queerevent #LGBTQ #bristolqueernightsing

Thank you @papayafest (Bristol, UK) for opening the space to meet and create together with @tim_lytc (HK/香港) "Tides of Translation", a 15-minute composition developed in less than 48 hours, which allowed us to connect with the deepest parts of our hearts. It was an honor to share fragments of our stories through art and to premiere the piece at @thewardrobetheatre , doing what we love most.

______ "Tides of Translation" for @papayafest , premiered at @thewardrobetheatre . With @tim_lytc we took the Pacific Ocean as a point of connection between our two realities — a maternal womb, the place that gave us birth. The first part of the piece explores the rebirth of the migrant body: learning again how to see, to touch, to smell, and to walk. Using lullabies and recordings in Tim’s native language as triggers, the work traces the journey of an artist whose destination becomes a city — such as Bristol or Buenos Aires — a site of arrival, friction, and transformation. Musically, the composition weaves rhythms and melodies that echo both the Andean sounds of northern Chile and the traditional music of Hong Kong.

“Tides of Translation” was conceived and built in 48 hours as part of international @papayafest (Bristol, UK), and premiered at @thewardrobetheatre . @tim_lytc (HK/香港) and I connected through our shared migrant experiences (we're from Chile & Hong Kong), using sound and movement to tell the story of a migrating body. It was an intense, challenging, and deeply beautiful process, where we discovered we shared more than we had ever expected. Because sometimes words fail, music and dance speak for us.

DM if money is a barrier to you joining. Let's fckg g@y . • [Video description: Indoor club setting. Mostly short shots which cut on the beat of the music. We start with Tim, a Chinese human dancing playfully and gracefully furst in a traditional black silk feminine Chinese dress, then in a black crop top with a rainbow unicorn and text that reads "Screams in G@y ". They perform a pirouette and a final hop in the air and when the music track drops, we cut to a full crowd dancing on stage. Qu33rs of all gender expressions move freely and interract with smiles and love. Ivicore, a masc Latinx DJ with a white cap and face tattoos and piercings, moves behind the decks and interracts with the camera. Cut to close ups of dancers dancing together, short haircuts, crop tops, binders, chests out, sweat and heat. The overall energy is outrageous beauty.] • #SoftButch #queer #queerartist #dance #queerasian #queerdance #queerjoy #asianartist #bristolartist #cabaret #drag #performer #queernightlife
