Into The Abyss #062 | Tim Rosenbaum 🌓 Tim Rosenbaum’s mix unfolds as a controlled study in drift and destabilisation, drawing from works that treat sound as material rather than fixed composition. Based in Germany, Rosenbaum runs KNACKLESS and performs as both a DJ and live act, approaching sound with a curator’s sensitivity to texture and context. Layered elements, processed fragments and eroded ambience create a listening space where familiarity feels suspended, as if recalled through a digital haze. Ambient surfaces dissolve into passages that quietly tip off balance, while installation-derived pieces hover without settling. Tape hiss, echoes and minimal pulses recur like fragments of a memory loop, edging gradually toward a quiet abyss beneath the surface. Rhythms refuse stability and melodic lines slip out of alignment, guiding the mix deeper into an unstable zone where simulation and sensation overlap. Residual Signals (live) Rooted in the Post-Internet condition, this work translates the residue of digital history into tactile sound. The noise of compression and decay becomes new material: MP3 artifacts shimmer like fractured glass, and broken data pulses with new weight. The idea reaches back to the early mainstream internet era, when downloaded MP3s were heavily compressed and bandwidth was limited. Music starts at 12 and fades gently into the evening. @t_a_l_i_tali drifts through slow-motion electronics and layered textures, somewhere between ambient tenderness and trip hop muscle.
