The band’s unique psychedelic approach to this genre received international attention from vinyl influencers like Somewhere Soul, tastemaker radio stations like KEXP, and leading record stores from Tokyo to San Francisco. Theodor is named after a 24-year-old cat that observed the genesis of the band’s first album. The recording sessions started deep in the pandemic and captured this peaceful solitude. The outcome was their self-titled LP. The idea to form a recording project was born on a road trip to Italy. Rob (Okta Logue) and Lui (LUI HILL) were listening to tapes of contemporary soul music which became the subsequent inspiration for the project: a vision to record a moody and relaxed soundscape.
