We haven't really shared here, but Thrive (and many nonprofits) continue to face funding impacts. Though we are forced to reduce our outreach sites, we continue to work through other facets of our community to assist those who need it most. Check out our April impact!

Thank you so much to those who joined us last Thursday for our 4th annual We Are Home Film Fest! It was a beautiful day outside, and we are truly grateful to those who came inside to celebrate the Native and Indigenous stories we shared and learned more about Thrive Central Oregon. Together, we raised $800 for Warm Springs housing support, which will be distributed as application fee, rent, and deposit assistance to those we work with 🏡 Two of our featured filmmakers were there, which made for such a special night. Huge thanks to them for attending and for their incredible work. You can actually watch both of their films free online, so please share with your networks and friends: ✨ Autie Carlisle - Full Circle (Shasta Stories) ✨ LaRonn Katchia - Guardian of the Land (OPB) 🏡 ❤️

This is our final film announcement for the We Are Home Film Fest - and another incredible LOCAL film! We're so excited to show The Hard Way, the story of Matt Mendes, a Warm Springs tribal member and guide whose life is deeply intertwined with the cycles of the Deschutes River. Hosted in conjunction with COCC, this event is FREE and open to the public. Join us Thursday, April 9th 6-8pm at Madras Performing Arts Center Free tickets - reserve online bit.ly/wearehome2026 More info about The Hard Way: Spanning all four seasons, the film is a breathtaking visual journey through the rhythms of the river and the life it sustains. It opens with narration by Chief Jefferson Greene in the native Ichishkiin language—one of only about 50 remaining fluent speakers—grounding the film in the cultural and historical depth of the Warm Springs people. Directed by RA Beattie, The Hard Way is a meditative experience that invites viewers to slow down, immerse themselves in the landscape, and reflect on the deeper meaning of dedication, resilience, and heritage.
