And here it finally is... OatCult ‘Overnight Oats, Without The Sacrifice’. When we got the brief, we immediately dug into the world of Robert Eggers, Ari Aster and the cult classic The Wickerman. Immersing ourselves in the world of cults was a fun, weird one. But hopefully, we’re one step closer to directing an A24 feature. (Manifest that) This was a proper mad shoot and luckily we had one of the best locations to make it work and a crew that were willing to dig in with us, shooting over two days in the freezing depths of December. All for the art, baby. Homemade cult masks, 5 hour drives, city boys getting lost in the Lake District, December daylight hours, sporadic rain, working with sheep, a lonely cottage in the hills and a Zipcar towed out of a muddy field by local farmers. Amazing to see the response to our little promo film for Oat Cult. This really was a labour of love between us, client and crew. This shoot was an experience. Lot’s of love to @homegroundldn and @staceyarthur_ for bringing us onto the project, was a bit of a milestone for us and a mad day on set! Introducing the Airport security check of your nightmares… This was a really fun one to put together as the guys at @getdolarapp involved us right from start. Faced with a pretty open brief, we delved into our collective airport traumas and this was the result. Our little film Make Yourself at Home continues its journey on the silver screen, this time at the legendary LOCO London Comedy Film Festival. All the years of watching our favourite films play at our favourite local cinema - @ritzy_cinema in Brixton, and now we get to squirm in our seats watching ours, praying people laugh at all the right bits. In fact, laugh whenever and we’ll be happy. Massive thanks to everyone who helped bring this chaotic, awkward, unhinged, house hunting, cinematic world to life. See you there 🏠

If someone would have told us whilst we were shooting this short in a flat in South East London on a shoestring budget on a hectic Thursday last spring, that a year later we would be showing it in HOLLYWOOD. Yes, Hollywood! Well, I’m not sure what we would have said. Make Yourself at Home is having its stateside premiere at this year’s @hollywoodshortsfest And you know, we of course couldn’t miss out on an opportunity to present the film with a Q&A in old La La Land itself, so Three Shades are going to Hollywood ! We’ve all been to awful house viewings, politely wondering the property, imagining living out our domestic lives within the bare walls. But what happens when you take the phrase ‘make yourself at home’ a little too literally? So excited to finally share the trailer for Make Yourself at Home, a dark comedy short about an increasingly overwhelmed estate agent who must survive a couple’s spiralling domestic chaos in order to close the viewing. It’s finally here, the Shades x Shades collab that the world has been waiting for - a truly momentous day for all. It’s also a very special day for @theunitedstrand who is finally closer than ever before to getting the haircut of the century, all thanks to some rogue therapising from @niko and the trusty @shadesbyniko packaging.
