The Year of the Snake is almost over and here are some highlights! We have travelled from London to the Havana Bar to a festival in Morocco and homeward bound again. The tiniest snake has grown into something we had never expected. This year we have made and sold out of T-shirts, performed 10 open mics, 8 gigs, and rounded it all of with a 14 act showcase onboard the Theatreship. Thank you to everyone who has been a part of the community this year and to all of the venues who have welcomed us. We cannot wait for more memories and music and travels in 2026.

Welcome the old and the new. These beautiful souls bore themselves at the last open mic and we were so lucky to have @albertineband join us as our special guests. Thank you for coming along to what we now know was our penultimate open mic at the fantastic @morocco_bound_bookshop
We have been hosting events at Morocco Bound since we birthed and it has been our warm and cosy musical vivarium. Unfortunately they are no longer able to host us due to financial reasons. The May and June open mic dates have therefore also been cancelled. We are sad to say goodbye however as snakes, we do not depart in ssssadness...
On the 7th of July, we will be throwing our last ever showcase and 3rd birthday party at Morocco Bound. Do come along with a song to celebrate and commemorate all of our special time at this unique venue, and welcome on to the next adventure!
NOTE!! The Thread Snake X Utopia Ghost showcase on the 21st of May, next week at The Cavendish Arms, is still going ahead! The snakes are slithering up to join the annual @fileyfolkfestival 🧵🐍🎺 Four of the classics @_woundedbear_@james_bailey746@alexmitton7@omamdawn a french horn and a fox have joined forces to perform some wild thyme classics alongside their beautiful originals. Wohoo wahee!! Also, just to say, the next open mic on the 19th of May has been cancelled by the venue. We have an announcement to make about that soon and do keep the 7th of July free for something fun and holy... lots of snakey love Beltane and forever x
Our dear reptilian @ohdouglasmusic has only just gone and released a whole album! Songs for Bridge People is a beautiful blend of all things folk and we are happy to be inviting you to the launch party that will be happening this Sunday at @chatspalace from 4pm with inspiring support from @martha_white_music and @_constantbilly

Unfortunately Testaments have had to pull out last minute for tonight, due to illness - however, we are fortunate enough to welcome @albertineband into the snake pit for their debut threadsnake show! There was a snake in the window of the Green Note and when you went inside you were struck by a miasma of acoustic melodies. Welcome to the stage JIAL, Louis Alberry and the Omam Dawn trio.
