Don't miss 'Fragments of Tuah' at KL Festival from 23-24 May 2026! ✹ 3 performances only - tickets are selling fast! Fresh off receiving 5 awards at the BOH Cameronian Arts Awards, and celebrated by audiences and critics as one of the artistic highlights of 2025 in Malaysia, this performance will be restaged at the KL Festival before embarking on an international tour. --- 'Fragments of Tuah' is a documentary theatre work set to original songs and music, that revisits, dissects and reimagines the enduring figure of Hang Tuah - the 15th-century warrior whose myth and memory continue to echo across time in Malaysia. Having toured as one of the opening performances at KYOTO EXPERIMENT 2025, the one-person performance looks at the different faces, facets and phases of Hang Tuah. This powerful, poetic performance is created from a layered collage of perspectives, research and materials drawn from archival documents, episodes in the 'Hikayat Hang Tuah', songs, memories, and representations of the legendary figure in our landscape. This second staging in KL once again invites the audience into a space of reflection where the stories and fragments of Tuah are pieced together not to restore a whole, but to explore the gaps, contradictions and questions that linger. ----- 📅 Showtimes 23 May (Sat) — 8.30pm 24 May (Sun) — 3.00pm & 8.30pm 📍 Sekolah Seni Malaysia Kuala Lumpur, Jalan Seladang, Off, Jalan Pasar, 55100 Kuala Lumpur đŸŽŸïž Tickets RM70 Regular RM30 Concession (Persons with Disabilities / Seniors / Students) 🔗 Ticket Link in Bio. /shows/5275-fragments-of-tuah

Okay, so how many times have we heard the story of Hang Tuah? Probably a million. But trust me, you haven’t seen him like this. Forget the textbook version for a second. Fragments of Tuah This isn’t your typical historical drama. It’s more like a cool, experimental documentary on stage. Think original songs, archival clips, and old schoolbooks all mashed together to figure out who this legendary warrior actually was (or if he’s just a figure of our collective imagination). It’s fresh from a stint in Japan (Kyoto Experiment 2025!), so you know the production is top-tier. You’ve got Faiq Syazwan Kuhiri from the band Terrer leading the way, joined by the indie-pop king OJ Law and sound maestro Shariman Shuhaime. It’s basically a supergroup exploring Malaysian identity through music and storytelling. đŸ—“ïž Sat, 23 May & Sun, 24 May ⏰ 8:30PM (Sat) & 3:00PM (Sun) 📍 Sekolah Seni Malaysia Kuala Lumpur 🔗 Comment ‘JOI’ for tickets or click here: /shows/5275-fragments-of-tuah #fragmentsoftuah #cloudjoi #klevents #malaysiantheatre
