"""Mama, you're a princess."" is an intimate exploration of motherhood and artistry, where a stage scattered with children's toys becomes both playground and performance space. Drawn from improvisations captured in everyday moments at home that are often interrupted and reshaped by the presence of my children, the movement reflects a life where art and motherhood are inseparable. Accompanied by an original soundscape composed from the sounds of daily life, the work moves beyond the pursuit of ""balance"" in motherhood, embracing instead a state of integration, where performance and creativity hide within the mundane moments of everyday life.
As a native of Arizona, Rosy Mack is passionate about strengthening the vibrancy of art in her home state. For the last 18 years, she has been an active member of the dance community as both a performer, choreographer, and instructor. Rosy has performed professionally with many dance companies in the Phoenix area including Center Dance Ensemble, Dias Dance Life, Elevate DanceWorks, and The Parking Lot Project. For 10 years, Rosy served as the founder and artistic director of Ignite Collaborative (2011-2021), a 501(c)3 dance performance company with the mission to build a more connected and compassionate community through movement. Currently, Rosy works with Scottsdale Arts as an artist-in-residence bringing dance to the classrooms of elementary-aged children through the Wolftrap Teaching Artists program and smART Learning. Rosy also leads the Cultural Connections Diversity Class at Scottsdale Arts, linking high school and college students with professional touring dance companies. When not dancing, Rosy spends her time reading everything from chick-lit to the Bible, working with clay on her pottery wheel, tending her backyard garden, indulging in self-care at the spa, and spending quality time with her husband, her two sons, and dog.
