Can social media trends be sustainable? @thinking.threads believes that trends are not sustainable because the fast as they come, the faster they go! Spending a lot of money and time to chase trends becomes a Sisyphus task which just so happens to also pollute the planet and keep people in unsafe living and working conditions. But, the funny thing about trends is that they come and go in circles! So you should stick to your personal style because the chances are sooner or later it will be in trend again! And when that happens, you can enjoy seeing other people discover your favorite aesthetics without having to spend a cent! You can also adapt trends to fit your own preferences to make sure you're investing in something that will make you happy longterm even after the trend is gone. Or, if you wish to experiment with new trends guilt free, swapping with friends and renting are a way to go! What tips do you have for participating in trends in a sustainable way? On 28th March, award-winning fashion designer and activist @louisexincouture hosted the first-ever fashion show at the European’ Parliament. The event highlighted that millions of people who make our clothes are trapped in forced labour, including state imposed forced labour in the Uyghur region of China.
