At Home in Parra - An evening with music, food and community organised by Think + Do Tank Foundation! â¤ď¸
(9/100)
(Australia, Sydney, Parramatta Square, Parramatta Library, City Of Sydney, NSW)
Celebrate our @lostinbookssydney Literary Lead, Dr Rosario Lazaro Igoa, appearing as part of the upcoming Addi Road Writersâ Festival.
A cultural and linguistic agitator, author and contemporary literary provocateur, Rosarioâs work challenges, disrupts and reimagines the spaces between language, identity, politics and storytelling. Her voice is sharp, fearless and deeply intelligent â moving fluidly across literature, performance, criticism and cultural commentary.
Rosario has long carved out space for bold conversations and uncompromising creative expression, pushing at the edges of what literature can hold and who it speaks to.
Thank you to everyone that joined us this evening for At Home in Parra. You were amazing! 𤊠thank you to @cityofparramatta for funding this evening and helping us activate parra square! More photos to be released next week. We are packed up and on our way home. â¤ď¸âď¸đ§
Last weekend, we were incredibly proud to see our Creative Producer Helen perform as part of Spirit of the Orient.
Helen is a driving force within our team. She is thoughtful, highly capable and someone who consistently brings ideas into action. From coordination and implementation through to supporting artists, logistics and delivery, Helen is often the person ensuring things move from concept to reality with care and precision.
Seeing her step into performance within Spirit of the Orient was such a wonderful reflection of the many layers of her creative practice and contribution to community arts.
A special acknowledgement as well to Hussien and Rania, whose talent and collaboration helped bring the performance to life across the weekend.
We also loved seeing Spirit of the Orient utilise the TDTF Community House as a rehearsal space in the lead up to the performances â a reminder of the importance of accessible community spaces that support creativity, culture and connection behind the scenes, not just on the stage itself.
Congratulations to everyone involved in a beautiful weekend performance.

Our mentees, Leila Frijat (@thistle.b ), Huaning Wu (@anvhua ), and Lima Maula (@limalamun ), have developed works that reflect the multilingual realities of contemporary Australia.

We are so proud to celebrate our Programming Director, Marian Abboud whose work and vision have been acknowledged as part of the 25th Biennale of Sydney.
Marian brings deep care, intelligence, courage and curiosity into every space she works within. Her approach to programming is never simply about events or outcomes, it centres around people, dialogue, storytelling and creating spaces where communities feel seen, heard and connected.
Her contribution continues to shape not only our organisation, but the broader cultural landscape of Western Sydney and beyond.
To see this work recognised within the 25th Biennale of Sydney feels both significant and deeply deserved.
Please join us in celebrating Marian and this incredible achievement. Check out some of her exhibition pieces.

Across Western Sydney and beyond, we see artists, storytellers, cultural workers and communities holding spaces that institutions often cannot. From multilingual storytelling and intergenerational knowledge-sharing, to public gatherings, workshops, music, food and collective making, this work matters deeply.
Weâre proud to stand alongside the voices calling for greater recognition, investment and long-term support for Community Arts and Cultural Development (CACD) practice across Australia.

Last week, the works developed by the Mirror Mentorship mentees, alongside their mentors, were showcased at the Bologna Childrenâs Book Fair.
They travelled with @scribblekidsbooks and were part of the Australian Collective Stand managed by the Australian Publisher's Association. It was a wonderful opportunity to internationalise these beautiful creations and connect with stakeholders from across the globe.
Huge congratulations to Miriam Rosenbloom and Guy Ivison for making these works travel and find readers worldwide!
We canât wait to share the stunning leporelli by @thistle.b@limalamun and @anvhua with more readers here in Australia and beyond. Stay tuned, more coming very soon.
