Happy first day of Autumn, friends! Exactly one year ago today I released the Linn Cove Viaduct limited edition block print and now I can’t believe it’s featured in the October issue of @ourstatemag ! I am absolutely honored to be a part of a piece highlighting so many amazing artists and craftsmen along the Blue Ridge Parkway. And how cool that I’m sharing a page with my sweet friend @tinyhandspottery !? There are only a handful of Viaduct prints left in the limited edition. This seven layer block print was developed using the reduction process so no more can be made in the future. I have listed a couple more on my website but the remainder of the edition will be available in person at this weekend’s @makersco_ Indi Craft Parade in Greenville, South Carolina. This is my first time at ICP and it looks like it’s going to be quite the party. Hope to see y’all there! - - - - - - - - #printmaking #print #maker #satisfying #handmade #contemporaryprintmaking #process #linncoveviaduct #asmr #oddlysatisfying #printmakersofinstagram #makersmovement #craftswoman #get_imprinted #inkonblock #grandfathermountain #boonenc #blueridge #blueridgemountains #justprintmaking #blockprint #blockprinting #lino #linocut #printspotters #blueridgeparkway #woodcut #makersmovement #northcarolina

There are a lot of new faces around here so I thought I would reintroduce myself. I’m Lauren, the artist behind The White Crowe. I grew up in the Smoky Mountains of North Carolina and I’ve always loved making things with my hands and being out in nature. I moved to Boone 10 years ago to attend Appalachian State University and study nutrition. I know, sounds random. It didn’t take me long to realize that wasn’t for me and I started looking into the avenues of art as a career and landed in graphic design. While studying graphic design I took relief printmaking as an elective course and fell in love. That was it for my training in printmaking and I didn’t pick it back up until after graduation. (I also met and married my husband while in college and he is my #1 and I could not be here without him!) After graduation I continued to make prints and learn about printmaking while working as a graphic designer for a humanitarian aid organization. After 5 years at the non profit I quit to pursue printmaking full time as well as have more flexibility and time with our 1 year old son. Last week I moved my studio into half of my husbands office space and now I get to work next to my best friend everyday doing what I love. What a dream. It sounds like it was an easy road but we worked so hard as a family and as a team to get here and I’m so so grateful. Thank you for being here. 💛 #reliefprintmaking #printmaking #artist #artistbio #aboutme #handmadeprints #linocut #artstudio #printmakingstudio

(Edit: sold out! But not to worry, I hope to print the limited editions by spring 2026.) I just posted a few new trial proofs for sale in my 0nl!n3 sh0p from two upcoming editions. There are very limited quantities so snag them fast! 🎄🎁 I had hopes of getting these two limited editions out for you guys this holiday season but it’s simply not going to happen. Thank you to those that have been patiently waiting to add to their ☁️ collection! The orange sky version is also still available. What is a trial proof?: a test print made during the development of an artwork to allow the artist to examine and perfect the image before creating the final edition. These prints are experimental and not part of the final numbered edition. Collectors often find trial proofs valuable because they reveal the artist’s creative process and journey.

This little elf is very grateful that this is what her packing table looks like today!🎄🎁☃️🎊 It seems like you guys are getting a jump start on some Christmas shopping. I know it’s still a little early for most of us but that is the best way to make sure things arrive on time before the big day. I am so thankful for those of you who are choosing to shop small this season! Do you put your tree up before or after Thanksgiving?

The Craft Fair of the Southern Highlands is only 2 days away! I’ve cut back on events this year so I’m looking forward to seeing collectors face to face and chatting about my work. I’m also excited about all of the fall color I get to drive through on my way to Asheville. 🍂🍁 It’s getting close to peak week here in the High Country. October 16-19, 10am-5pm Hope you can make it out! @craftguild

“Pilot Mountain” Embossed, Linoleum Block Print Full Bleed Diptych (two separate panels) 28″ x 20″ (each panel) Limited Edition of 42 A hand-pulled, two-layer relief print inspired by the iconic form of Pilot Mountain in North Carolina’s Piedmont region. The first layer introduces blind-embossed clouds and rock details that add subtle movement and texture to the surface. The second layer is densely carved with fine line work and stippling, bringing dimension throughout the landscape. Presented as a diptych, the space between the panels introduces a subtle pause that encourages the viewer to linger and engage with each half on its own terms while still experiencing them as a connected whole. Created using the reduction printmaking method, both layers were carved and printed using the same block, making the edition truly one-of-a-kind.

Updates: My family and I have been sick this week so unfortunately, I will not be able to attend this year’s @indiecraftparade . So sorry to those who planned on seeing my work in person. Prints cans still be ordered online and mailed. My website is currently down so future orders will need to be placed through my Etsy shop for the time being. (Link in bio) I planned on bringing proofs from sold out editions to this event so If you were specifically looking to purchase one of those, please message me to claim. (“The Chase”, “Table Rock”, “Grandfather Mountain”, “Emanation”) Reminder: pre-orders for “Pilot Mountain” will close on Sunday, September 14th. Shipments for this edition will begin the 15th. DM or email if you have any questions! :)
