It’s been 570 days since Hurricane Helene assaulted Western, NC, and its tentacles are still ever reaching. The grief still lingers in the air. The damage is visible. The loss is palpable. Today, I pounded out the very last of my clay from High Water Clay. High Water, located in Asheville was destroyed by the Hurricane. The loss was too great, and they didn’t reopen. Our clay manufacturer was gone in an instant. It’s the clay I learned on. It’s the clay I’ve used for the past 11 years of building my business. I’ve sourced new clay, and honestly, I kind of hate it. It throws differently. It slightly changed the look of my work. It’s not what I’ve known and loved. I can see my palm prints on my clay in this photo. I’ve never really noticed them before, but this in some way felt significant, as High Water made such an imprint of me for years. I miss the clay. Life goes on. But I’m sending love to any of you who are still in the throes of rebuilding (physically and emotionally) from Helene. 💕
I’m so excited to share that I am linking arms with @thepotterylot in Boone! I’ve missed teaching lessons, and I’m excited to share that I’ll be teaching wheel lessons at @thepotterylot in the not too distant future! Of course I’ll make sure to share those dates with you, when available! I’ll also be stocking @thepotterylot next month! For all of you who have asked me for lessons, now’s your chance! So fun!

I LOVE a gallery wall!!! I love the visual impact it can create in a space.
It can convey a mood or theme or tell a story. It can feature a displayed collection curated over time or be a grid of photos of family and loved ones. Arrange it symmetrically or askew…all the way to the top or bottom of a room…a gallery wall has no bounds. However, there is an art to the arrangement. Understanding a space and how it will be utilized and making the gallery wall feel like a part of the space and not feel overwhelming or unbalanced is key.
That’s where I come in…😁
My amazing friend, @tinyhandspottery wanted to revamp her Airbnb space and had a vision of a collected gallery wall. (Fun fact: I had the pleasure of designing and styling this same Airbnb space years ago). She sourced all the items and then called me in to bring her vision to life through the various pieces she had accumulated. Which, for me, was so fun because typically I source the items and know what I’m working with somewhat…but she had carefully shopped a mix of modern and vintage and we got to ooh and ahh over her finds when I got there!
The result is pictured above. I did my best to try and capture how long the wall is (seemingly 20 feet?) and with the lack of natural light…I hope my pictures and video are a good representation of how wonderful the final product turned out to be. Plus, a few @stylebyepoch finds were used to finish out the room once the main gallery wall was complete.

Oh, friends! The porch pop-up is a wrap! There is literally nothing left! I am continually blown away by the love and support of my community! Now, I will rest. This has been an unbelievably hard year, and now I have time to sink into the grief over the loss of my precious father. Merry Christmas and love to you all!
It’s almost time! The porch popup will open this Saturday (the 13th) at 12:00 pm. Please read the information above. While some of the pieces will be true “seconds”, many of them are brand new, and in perfect (handmade) condition. Let me reiterate, this is a love response to my local community that supports me so well, and I will not ship any of these pieces. Also, please don’t write me and ask me to pull certain pieces for you, because this stresses me out! 🤪. Come by anytime day or night. Bring your own bags/boxes. DM me if you need my address. This Saturday I’ll be at Parkway School for their Holiday Bazaar. I’ve had the honor of being a “Lunch Buddy” volunteer there for the last 4 years through @wynstagram_1 and thought it would be fun to set up there!
Friday and Saturday, November 28th and 29th I’ll be doing a pop up with @stylebyepoch at @ellison_nc and @futurerelicdesigns in downtown Boone. Talk about a party…I love these people!
Friday and Saturday, December 5th and 6th I’ll be at my beloved @mustardseedmarketandhome Market! I’ll be inside the greenhouse this year.

A quick update. I’ve re-opened up my website to continue taking orders until this Saturday, November 22nd. All previous and new orders will ship (be ready for pickup) on/by Friday, December 12th. I’d also like to thank everyone for their love, prayers, and well wishes for me and my family over the passing of my Dad. He was the greatest, and I’m missing him like crazy. 💕
I am heartbroken to share that my incredible father, Michael James Lowrey passed away this morning at 11:09 am on 11/9. Those numbers aligning make me smile in a way that I can’t even explain.
My dad: hero to many, friend to all. His middle name was James, but it should have been “servant hearted.” He served his country, retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel in the Air Force. He served his family, providing everything we could have ever needed. He served as a Deacon, Sunday School teacher of 40+ years, and did Jail Ministry for many years. He called 5-10 different people everyday for years, simply to check on them and see if anyone needed anything. His famous line was always “what can I be doing for you”, and he meant it. I don’t know if a day ever passed that wasn’t doing something for someone. And he never catalogued his kind acts, and never expected anything in return. (MORE IN COMMENTS)
UPDATE: I have paused all new orders for a family emergency. I’ll post when available again. Can you believe it’s only 50 days until Christmas?! New (and old) items are now available on my website! We’ve got trees, magnets, ornaments, fridge vases, and sippy cups! All orders must be placed by NOVEMBER 15th. All orders will be shipped (available for pickup) on/or before December 12th. Thanks to all who have already ordered! If you want to add more, I’ll combine it and refund any shipping overages. I will donate 10% of all online sales to @f.a.r.m.cafe , to support their mission: “To build a healthy and inclusive community where everybody eats, regardless of means.” 💕💕💕
