I’m feeling incredibly grateful and a bit surreal today as I share something that happened recently. 🌟 Just a few days ago, @herworldsingapore honored me with a feature that delves into my career journey, my experience being on The Apprentice: @onechampionship edition, and the inception of @boneandgrey . It’s a story that I’ve lived but seeing it through someone else’s eyes is both humbling and inspiring. From the steep learning curves in my early career days to the thrilling, yet daunting adventure of building Bone and Grey, it’s been a journey of persistence, resilience, and countless lessons. This feature is a testament to the incredible support system I’ve had - my husband @joshlzm , family, friends, mentors, my brides, and every single person who’s been a part of this journey so far. I’m nowhere near “success” however I am so so grateful whenever I see people root for the business or for me. 😭 I hope my story can inspire or resonate with someone out there who’s on their own journey. It’s sort of crazy but the year was 2022. We were finally seeing the light at the end of the tunnel with covid all around the world, and my then-fiancé (now husband) @joshlzm sent me the casting call for this show via LinkedIn saying I should go for it. I said no way I’ll ever get on it. It was also during this time that I took a break from the corporate rat race to pursue creative passions of mine, so the timing was quite perfect. 🤹‍♀️🎭👩‍🎨 I signed up and the next thing I knew, I had gone through multiple interviews and chats, then bam! I got selected as one of 10 contestants on the Season 2 of The Apprentice: @onechampionship edition. 🥊🥳 I was there to represent Canada 🇨🇦 (and China 🇨🇳), put my best foot forward in terms of business acumen, and to complete the challenges to the best of my abilities. But I forget that it’s still a reality TV show at the end of the day... so pretty much it was corporate rat race on steroids with physical challenges and interpersonal drama, so much for a break ha! 😂. Anyways, it’s LIVE TODAY on @netflix across Asia (rest of the globe early next year) but I’m not ready to watch it yet so you go ahead first and tell me how it is! 😂 Also wanna thank the team @refinerymedia for the opportunity and the whole crew who worked sleepless nights to make it happen. You may already have seen this around but at the beginning of this year, I voluntarily subjected myself to an unforgettable experience that is reality tv. It’s an amazing feeling to be one of 10 contestants on The Apprentice: @onechampionship edition (reppin’ Canada 🇨🇦 and some China 🇨🇳), alongside people from around the world with different backgrounds and experiences. But was it easy to take part in the challenges? Time has a way of slipping by before we even realise it. My grandparents raised me from the day I was born. They were my constant, my safe place, the people who quietly shaped so much of who I am today. After my grandma passed, it broke my heart seeing my grandpa navigate life on his own so I try to visit as many times as I can each year. This trip home, he asked me to help cut his toenails because after his stroke, both his legs have grown weaker and he can’t quite reach anymore. The last time he tried, he accidentally cut himself and bled. It was such a small, ordinary moment, but one that hit me deeply. Life really comes full circle. The hands that once cared for me now need caring for too. It’s a reminder that time is fleeting, and love is often shown in the quietest ways. In showing up. In making time. In choosing to be present for the people who matter. I’m so thankful for every day he’s still here, and for every chance I get to sit beside him a little longer. 48 hours in Macao and somehow we managed to fit everything in 😅✨ Day 1: - Touchdown and straight into main character energy at @londonergrand_macao - the hospitality is top-notch, the rooms are spacious and the bathrooms… INSANE. - Then we stepped into another universe at @teamlab SuperNature Macao inside @thevenetianmacao … fully lost track of time in there tbh. - Wrapped the night with sparkles and 360 view on top the Eiffel Tower at the @parisian_macao because when in Macao… 🇫🇷 Day 2: - Slowed things down (slightly) with a wander through the Historic Centre of Macau - pastel streets, tiled floors, and so much history in every corner. - Then back to indulgence with high tea at the @parisian_macao (balance, right?) - Before ending the trip with cocktails at @stregismacao bar and The Mews at the @londonergrand_macao , because no trip is complete without a proper nightcap. ✨ BONUS: there are constant entertainment in and around the hotels at all times around the clock, just catch them when you can! 🤹🎭🎤 Who knew you could travel London, Venice, and Paris… all in one weekend? ✈️😂 ✨ Saving this for your next Macao escape.
