What if that book you bought for your coffee table was put together by a renowned Singaporean book artist? This hypothetical situation is made possible by book artist @theseuschanwork , who has worked closely with Steidl Publishing to bring some of the best books to the world 📚
The boundaries of printing are continuously experimented on by Theseus and team – and there is no limit to that creativity.
We uncover the driving force in our link in bio – and why you should check out @deck_sg exhibit in their shophouse 🔗

Last Thursday evening, we had the privilege of opening Steidl Book Culture. Magic on Paper at Shop–House by DECK. A night that celebrated the timeless beauty of printed matter.
We were honoured to kickstart the opening of the showcase with Gerhard Steidl (@gerhardsteidl ), alongside international artists Dayanita Singh (@dayanitasingh ) and Theseus Chan (@theseuschan ). The evening was filled with meaningful exchanges, a special book signing with Dayanita Singh, and insightful conversations as Gerhard and Theseus shared about their longstanding collaborations and the creative processes behind their work.
A big thank you to Goethe-Institut Singapore (@goetheinstitutsingapore for the generous collaboration in presenting this travelling showcase in Singapore, and to everyone who joined us in making the evening so special.
The showcase runs until 30 May! Don’t miss the chance to experience Magic on Paper.

These pieces are the result of moving ink between surfaces. There is no intended message or hidden meaning. The goal was simply to see how the ink moves, where it pools, and how it dries. The shapes are accidental, created by the pressure of the press and the thickness of the liquid. They are what they look like.
