What if that book you bought for your coffee table was put together by a renowned Singaporean book artist? This hypothetical situation is made possible by book artist @theseuschanwork , who has worked closely with Steidl Publishing to bring some of the best books to the world 📚 The boundaries of printing are continuously experimented on by Theseus and team – and there is no limit to that creativity. We uncover the driving force in our link in bio – and why you should check out @deck_sg exhibit in their shophouse 🔗 #SteidlPublishing #SingaporeArt #CatchSG #LifeBetterWithTheArts

DECK presents ‘I will tell you how it was and how I tried’, a three-channel video installation by Shi Yangkun that moves like a stream of visual fragments containing archival footage, found film, and recorded material drifting across screens. Rather than following a linear narrative, the work layers, interrupts, and reassembles images, creating a rhythm that feels closer to memory than story. Rooted in the theme of 1991, the presentation looks at a year not as a fixed point in history, but as something continually re-seen and re-edited through images. The installation opens up a space where memory feels fluid, one that is shaped in real time, and always slightly out of reach. 🗓️ 7 - 10 May 📍PHOTOFAIRS Shanghai, Booth W02

At PHOTOFAIRS Shanghai 2026, Tan Pin Pin’s ‘Someday (总有一天)’ unfolds as a quiet meditation on time and memory. Captured during her 11-week solo journey across China when she was 22, the photographs move through fleeting encounters—street scenes, lived-in interiors, and everyday rhythms, held with a sense of closeness and curiosity. Rooted in street photography yet extending into homes, schools, and intimate interiors, the work moves between distance and proximity, offering a layered portrait of a society on the cusp of rapid change. 🗓️ 7 - 10 May 📍PHOTOFAIRS Shanghai, Booth W02

DECK presents "1991" by Shi Yangkun (@shiyangkun ) and Tan Pin Pin (@pinpincam ) at PHOTOFAIRS Shanghai 2026. Time folds through images and memory, returning in quiet, unexpected ways. At 22, Tan Pin Pin travelled to China on a solo trip; Someday (总有一天) traces this journey through 80 intimate photographs, revealed gradually over time. Alongside, Shi Yangkun’s You Can Say I Was Wrong (你可以说我错了) reworks found film reels on Singapore in 1991 bringing together historical and contemporary footage. Through this, he invites viewers to reflect on how images shape and complicate collective memory. Step into "1991" with us at PHOTOFAIRS Shanghai 2026, 7 to 10 May 2026 at Shanghai Exhibition Center (booth W02)!
