Leaning back on the couch last night I was chatting to my partner as we collected up photos from events I've played to update my media kits.
As it turned out it has in fact been a little over a year (Fallout/Hazbin Rave was 1 year exactly!) since I first met the incredible @nicholasbexter_photography .
Since the HiBass Street party, then Venjent, Fortress "Character Select" gaming Rave, PAX Aus with the Rave RPG, Five Nights at Freddy's Rave and the Fallout/Hazbin Rave, Nick has been running around lugging gear at events getting incredible photos, and I want to shout this amazing man out!
His work, composition and timing is exceptional, but crucially, his eye for art in the post processing is what makes it stand above for me. It's rare to see Rave lighting captured so vibrantly while keeping so much detail in the dark areas, and having been a photographer in a past life myself, I know that getting into position to get those timed shots is harder than it seems!
I've left some commentary on each shot, some of these you haven't seen before - I tend to focus on the cosplay community and crowd when I'm sharing photos of events, because these events aren't about me, they're about US having a great time ❤️

The Rave RPG at @paxaus and @dubtendo_uk Halloween was its first real proper stress test by YOU - and oh boy did you test some of my assumptions!
The Rave Number Generator (aka Rave Dice) is a special project I designed and built, I ended up taking V3 to both events. I had a V4 built for Dubtendo but sadly it developed a leak in transit and wasn't usable on the night.
I'm in the process of making v5 now, with soft corners, a bit lighter, still the same size - they aren't easy builds but they're worth it!
I'm also bringing new tools to the Rave RPG experience (@divergenceraverpg ) - item boxes, to distribute goodies during the show! Coins, rings, potions, keychains and rewards - anything is possible with the new bouncy Splatboxes! Smack em around, squash em, they bounce back and are great fun to play with!

The exact moment everything changed, one ADHD prompted video where I let myself argue with... Myself, on camera, in "real time".
Taking that concept and applying it to my DJing, playing multiple characters on stage, examining these sides of my personality publicly, eventually led me to change in a major way.
The pivot from "look at my selves, see how they roar" to "what can my selves do for you" took effort, but the end result is the Rave RPG system.
Now I let these sides of my personality run free as needed to make an adventure soar, to breathe life into the live action encounters and stories.
"the boys" as I affectionately refer to the characters of Father Matthew, Brother Seth, and The Glitch, took a back seat for the second part of this year as I figured out navigating life without one of my actual brothers, who passed suddenly in March.
It's been a challenge. Brother Seth in particular took a lot of inspiration from him.
But the boys will be back in 2026. After all, I will be, and it's kind of a package deal, hey? 👓😈🦾
It is VITALLY IMPORTANT that you say yes to entering that DJ competition.

To the United Kingdom: thank you. From Windsor, to London, Bristol (twice!), Cambridge, Norwich, Manchester, Newcastle and finally Edinburgh - everywhere we went we were met with kindness, curiosity about my work and true, unbridled excitement at the kind of nerd stuff I do.
Where Melbourne often prides itself on restrained excitement, often needing strong coaxing to get that fun dancefloor vibe going, Bristol (@dubtendo_uk and @divergenceraverpg ) simply launched in without any hesitation. @sonicconuk took the vibes I was laying down and turned them into so many magical moments I don't know if I'm going to be able to do them justice in a highlights reel 😭
Not that I don't love you Melbourne, not that Australia won't always be home, but the UK showed me something special and different in a way I didn't know it could be. I'll be bringing that energy home and in my music going forward. I can see a lot of things changing from here.
My grandmother had an English husband, and my aunt and Uncle emigrated from Aus to the UK decades ago. Maybe...? Anyway, this trip wouldn't have been possible without the inheritance my Gran, and my partners Mother, both left us last year - we miss them, but I hope this has honoured their memory.
We're coming up on the end of this adventure in the UK, only one more city to visit (Edinburgh!) and it feels like a good time to revisit this very prescient comment I made back at @dubtendo_uk 's @theklabris Halloween event - being a father is a fast way to insanity!
Love the kids to bits though even if they do NEED to all talk at once in the back seat while I'm trying to navigate Newcastle city traffic 🤣
Let's bring @divergenceraverpg back to the UK soon! Gonna miss you lot, you've been amazing ❤️
