Hi 👋🏼 I’m Jess, owner of @pineapplestudios and I wanted to take a moment to formally introduce you to The Pass!
In a commercial kitchen, “The Pass” is the area where completed dishes are placed before moving into the dining room. It’s the final moment of garnishment and inspection, and the last stop before your plates are, well, PASSed to you.
I care a lot about how the plateware looks- especially when it comes to meals we’re celebrating over. I think if it’s a meal you’ve thought about intentionally, or poured a lot of heart into, you deserve to serve it on something other than “whatever the caterer uses”. If you’re going to design an entire menu to celebrate around, why not start with the plate?
The Pass consists of several handmade collections of commercial grade dinnerware, available to rent for parties and events. I also accept custom orders for restaurants or events looking to have (and keep) something of their own. Wanting to add handmade dinnerware to your wedding registry? I do that too.
If you’re planning a special meal, please reach out. I’ll pass you a plate.

I wouldn’t say I grew up in a foodie family, but I did grow up in an eatin’ family. There was always a lot of excitement and hullabaloo surrounding dinner. I think that’s why I get such a thrill out of making the plates that set your table. I like knowing I had a small contribution to some of life’s best meals and hopefully some good conversation. Photos like these, seeing my plates being filled and passed around, really warms my heart. Thanks for having me at your table 💛

I only remember eating these on Sunday mornings, and only ever made by my dad. And I realize as I write this, that we don’t pronounce the “and” in “PB&J”. It’s simply, peanut butter jelly. Or in this case, fried peanut butter jelly. The ampersand is silent, if you will…

Making so many plates and place-settings over these last few years really has me thinking about the meals that feel nostalgic- like this one. I’m so curious to know if this was a delicacy in anyone else’s house growing up? Let me know! And PLEASE let me know if you decide to try one. Tip: put peanut butter on both sides of the bread, jelly in the middle, for the full drippy effect. You can also substitute mayo for butter as your outside oil for a nice little tang!
I’m using the Salad Plate in these pics- I love the smaller size for sammiches!
THIS FRIDAY! You can officially start collecting your own pieces from The Pass 🍽️
Moving forward, you can expect quarterly releases with new colors, and sometimes a few fun new shapes, to help you grow your dinnerware collection in to something you feel really proud of. I’m so excited for my very first release! See you Friday, on the @pineapplestudios website. I’ll post an update in my stories with a link to shop when everything is up and ready! And just a reminder- the sale will end Sunday evening.
The Speckled Pearl dinner plate looks great on your rehearsal dinner or wedding day tables. But personally, I’m using mine to eat tomato sandwiches all summer long 🍅
I’ll be releasing a few pieces from the Speckled Pearl collection on the @pineapplestudios website 4/3! I hope you’ll check it out!
My first website sale with @thepass_pineapplestudios is happening Friday, April 3! Pieces will be available to purchase Friday, Sat, and Sunday. I’ll spend that following Mon and Tues getting your pieces shipped out and organizing orders for local pickup. I’m so excited for The Pass to have it’s online debut and I’m even more giddy at the thought of these pieces becoming a part of your daily life at home. Mark your calendars to shop the lineup on @pineapplestudios site, and heck- if you’re local why not sign up for a class while you’re at it?!
I’ve got a whole bunch of plates, bowls and mugs coming with me to the @markethouseilm this Thursday 5-9! Come grab a glass of wine while you shop some smiley mugs and collect a few pieces from my line of dinnerware with @thepass_pineapplestudios
The nice thing about @thepass_pineapplestudios is you can gradually expand your dinnerware set as your budget allows. I’ll be adding a few new shapes and colors throughout the year, so you can get playful with your colors, how many pieces you have, etc. Find me at Market House this Thurs (3/19) from 5-9! If you’re a 2026 or 2027 bride wanting to get info on renting pieces for your wedding- come see me!
It’s *almost* beach picnic weather and @thehalfbev is sooooon to be open in WB, which means it’s almost time to take your Speckled Pearl plates out for a sammich and wash your dishes in the waves! 10/10!
