Last night @ChaShaMa , @TheMickLewis 🎤 🎸 + @M.D.Thrasher 🎷 had a great time playing the closing weekend of @RogerWu99 Thought Experience 2.0 art show. Sat 30 Dec @DublinCastleCamden , it was a great way to close out 2023 by returning to @DublinCastleCamden for another @TheMickLewis London show, opening up for long-time faves @BandOfHolyJoy and singing with @_Johny_Brown_ on their tribute to my late brother Hesh AKA @NewYorkRomantic "New York Romantic" (see my earlier post for the full performance) as the final song of the night. Last night @BoweryPalace , @TheMickLewis 🎤 🎸 & The Fine Print (@TheKonradMeissner on 🥁 🎤 @MocoRocker on bass @M.D.Thrasher on baritone/tenor/soprano 🎷@IngaThrasherHair 🎤 Alla May Jones 🎹) had the pleasure of opening for the debut of @PeterSalett 's Blue Palace and following @Peaceful.Faces (whose @TreeBeardJazzMan graciously joined us on 🎺 for 3 songs). It was a fun night in a packed room full of musicians & music fan friends. We played a mix of tracks from my first LP and and songs I am in the process of recording w/ @Kharrari and @PopScreamMusic , it was great to hear "NM Blues," "The Girl Who Cried Wolf," & "Time" w/ a horn section for the first time! May 15 at a sold-out @BrooklynParamount for the 2nd NYC edition of the shoegaze @SlideAwayFest , one of the wonderful aspects of Slide Away Fest is founder Dominic Palermo of @BandOfNothing curation of artists that have inspired him, which meant bringing East Lansing, Michigan-originated post-rock ambient shoegaze duo @lovesliescrushing_official to play their first NYC show since 1995, with Scott Cortez 🎸 & Melissa Arpin-Duimstra 🎤 joined by her daughter Ruby Duimstra to match the brilliance of the ornate Brooklyn Paramount ceiling with spectral soundscapes that evoke the natural beauty of sub-oceanic & pre-volcanic landscapes (and can evidently induce seizures, which resulted in a shortened set as some fans received treatment), including on this extended clip of their epic "silver - fairy threaded" from 1996 @ProjektRecords LP Xuvetyn. #loveliescrushing #AmbientMusic #Shoegaze #PostRock #SlideAwayFest

At a sold-out @BarclaysCenter , when the Boss comes to Brooklyn (which he called "The Motherland," because his mom was born in Brooklyn), you figure out a way to see @Springsteen & The E Street Band for the first time since September 2009 at the final Giants Stadium shows, and although the 76-year-old rock icon is playing slightly shorter shows ("only" 3 hours), he's on point for this American moment, stepping up with a powerful setlist full of apropos protest songs (often joined by compatriot @TomMorello of @RageAgainstTheMachine ) to call out the indefensible, and some incredible full band (augmented with a horn section & choir) classics, including his magnum opus "Born to Run". #GoodMusic #BruceSpringsteen #TheEStreetBand #BornToRun #saxophone
