Together for Joyful Resilience 🌱💛
This World Hunger Day, we’re calling on Bristol to recognise food and eating together as a powerful act of care and solidarity.
Across the South West, 1 in 7 young people are out of education, out of work, and often out of options. Many are facing unsafe housing, hunger and isolation at the very moment they should be building their futures.
📣 Food is a basic right, yet for too many, it’s a daily struggle wrapped in stigma, shame and loneliness.
“Together for Joyful Resilience” is The MAZI Project’s campaign using food as a tool for youth justice, care and empowerment.
We’re inviting individuals, businesses and organisations to gather at our series of carefully curated events to share meals, stories and experiences, and stand with Bristol’s marginalised 16–25 year olds.
At the heart of this campaign are our aMAZIng members: young people affected by trauma and systemic neglect, whose resilience, strength and ambition demand better investment and support to live the lives they deserve.
Join us – together for joyful resilience. ✨🍽️

📣Food poverty is about more than just access to food📣
For many marginalised young people, food insecurity can also mean isolation and a lack of community.
That’s why at The MAZI Project, we focus on building connection alongside providing nourishing meals.
Across Bristol, there are so many incredible organisations using food, creativity, and community to bring people together and support people facing isolation and food insecurity 🍽️
We wanted to spotlight just a few of the groups doing amazing work in our city, creating welcoming spaces, sharing knowledge, building confidence, and helping people feel a little less alone ✨

A special shoutout to our incredible community champion, Tommy who recently hosted a charity coffee morning in support of MAZI 💛
With incredible home made cakes from the neighbourhood, the morning raised a brilliant £285, securing 90 nourishing meals to go to young people facing food poverty in the city 🫶🫶
He said:
“I wanted to get people together to support a great local cause and contribute to our sense of community, which I think is really important at the moment with all the madness in the world. It was really nice seeing the cross-generational mixing, with folk who have lived on the road for forty years sharing stories with young couples who’ve just moved to the area.”
Thank you Tommy for backing our work and helping create the kind of joyful, connected community we believe in 💛
Get in touch if you would like to host a coffee morning or dinner to raise money for The MAZI Project 🫶

Hear from some of our members about the impact MAZI has had on their lives 💛
This World Hunger Day, we’re shining a light on joyful resilience, the small and powerful ways people come together through food and community to show they care.
📦🥕At MAZI, our meal kits are about more than just food. They give young people voice and choice in what they eat, helping them access balanced, nourishing meals made with sustainably sourced ingredients.
💛🥘Our community sessions bring young people together to reduce isolation, build confidence, and create meaningful connections, because tackling food poverty is about more than feeding people, it’s about making sure nobody feels alone. Alongside this, young people gain practical cooking skills and opportunities for the future.
Help us make sure every young person feels cared for through food. Donate today 💫
🌱Food is a political act 🌱
Just like a Greek salad, it might seem simple, but it holds great power in making someone feel cared for and nourished. 🍅🥒🇬🇷
