Liquid Light Lab develops Candido AHU film through all three processes: native ECN-2, C-41 cross-process, and boutique black and white development. For colour work, ECN-2 is the native process. It is how this film is built to behave, with colour, contrast and density handled through the intended motion-picture chemistry path. C-41 is available too, but it should be understood for what it is: a cross-process. It can give a different colour response and a different curve, which may be exactly what some photographers want, but it is not the native process for the film. The third option is black and white development. Because modern AHU VISION3-based film carries additional silver in its anti-halation undercoat structure, it opens a serious black and white route when handled with the right development and scanning workflow. This is not just removing colour from a scan. It is a real monochrome development path, giving silver-based density, tonal separation and a different kind of image structure in the negative itself. At Liquid Light Lab, Candido 50D can be developed as: ECN-2 native colour process C-41 cross-process colour Black and white in pyrogallol UK mail-in and local Leamington Spa drop-off available. Black and white film deserves more than a standard process. At Liquid Light Lab, black and white is one of the core parts of the lab. Film choice, developer choice, density, tonal separation and scan extraction all shape the final image, which is why we spend real time testing and refining our process. A thank you to This Is How I Roll Film (@thisis_howiroll ) for sending film over for us to run through the lab. Their Svema-based Noir black and white range is exceptional value for the quality it delivers, with real depth, strong character and a look that responds beautifully to careful processing. That is exactly where specialist development matters. Films like this deserve to be matched to the right chemistry, and 510 Pyro is part of that. It brings excellent tonal separation, controlled highlights and a distinctive black and white rendering that suits serious film work extremely well. If you have black and white film ready to process, send it to Liquid Light Lab, link in the bio. From everyday rolls to personal projects and professional work, every roll is handled with care. Book your film with Liquid Light Lab. #TheLiquidLightLab #BlackAndWhiteFilm #510Pyro #FilmLabUK #filmdevelopment

Good to see a UK film vendor building its own identity rather than offering the same thing as everyone else. Dragon Film has put together a range with real character, and this roll is now in hand ready for testing properly. That means a full lab workflow at Liquid Light Lab, where the aim is not to flatten the film into a generic result, but to see exactly what the stock is capable of when exposure, development and scan extraction are handled with care. Always good to support UK film infrastructure that is contributing something to the space. Give Dragon a try! @dragonfilm35mm #dragonfilm #ukfilm #ukfilmphotography #35mmfilm #blackandwhitefilm #filmphotography #analoguephotography #shootfilm #ukfilmlab #liquidlightlab

Fuji Eterna 500T in ECN-2, developed and scanned by the Liquid Light Lab. This image was made by a 13-year-old photographer with exceptional talent, and shared here with kind permission. It is also a clear example of what cinema film can deliver when the lab work is done properly. Beautiful colour tone, real depth, and a negative that still carries its full character into the final scan. If you are shooting ECN-2 film, where you send it matters. Liquid Light Lab processes ECN-2 in-house in Leamington Spa with controlled chemistry, careful handling, and high-grade scan extraction. Book your rolls using the link in the comments. Local drop-off and UK mail-in both available. #TheLiquidLightLab #ECN2 #FujiEterna #UKFilmLab #FilmDevelopment #FilmScanning

Simon Bamford - @simonbamford - known to many from Hellraiser, Hellbound: Hellraiser II, and Nightbreed. We met up while Simon was preparing for his upcoming film Black Eyed Children 2. Rather than shoot promotional stills, we built the session around a quieter moment in an actor’s process — the point where the performer begins moving toward the character. Simon brings a theatre actor’s discipline to a portrait. Stillness, timing, and the smallest shifts in posture or gaze become part of the frame, and the camera responds to that control. Photographed entirely on 35 mm black and white film using the Leica M3 and Canon F-1 on Rollei RPX 100 and RPX 400. All film from the session was developed and scanned in-house at @theliquidlightlab in the UK, where actors, photographers and filmmakers trust their film to be handled with precision from negative to final scan. Send your film to Liquid Light Lab! #SimonBamford #Hellraiser #FilmPhotography #BlackAndWhiteFilm #TheLiquidLightLab

These frames of @dark_horse_heart were shot on Candido 200 and 400, with one roll of Rollei RPX 400. Both Candido stocks were processed in C-41 to see how they hold up when deep contrast and the negatives dye behaviour can be pushed with the light. Strong colour, deep shadows, and clean separation — that’s what impressed me most. All lighting was controlled on set: spill blocked, bounce removed, colour kept separate at the lamps. The film did the rest. Developed and scanned in-house at @theliquidlightlab and film supplied for testing by @candidocollective . More tests coming, pushing the films capabilities in ECN-2. #CandidoFilm #FilmPhotography #35mmFilm #ColourNegative #chiarascuro #C41 #Analogue #CinematicPortrait

Something a bit different; two shots from #naxos in Greece this summer shot on film. Both street art of a type in the main port of Chora. The Freda Kahlo is painted on the side of a bar, the Angel on a wooden board in the center of the town. Both shots on #silbersalz50d processed in ECN-2 chemistry by @theliquidlightlab in Leamington Spa. Good job! Pinch to expand if you want to know just how good this film stock is. Seems I can still hand hold 50 ISO. Lightroom adjustment remarkably straight forward from the low contrast scans. I'll do these again from my home scans for comparison.
