Each night will be completely different, a chance to explore my catalogue, revisit old favourites, pay tribute to heroes and really just try things I’ve never done on stage before.
These nights are made to be intimate, unpredictable, and full of moments that won’t happen anywhere else.

One morning in 2010 I woke up with this song in my head, sung in Lisa’s voice. The thing is, I didn’t yet know Lisa. I met her for the first time a little while after this and told her about it, asked if she might sing the song. She said that I should sing it myself, but she’d be happy to duet. I’m glad she did. This song is the one people always shout out for, it gets the biggest singalong at the end of a show and it’s been one of my favourites since I first played it live.
For Gatherings, I wanted to record a version with just Lisa and I in the studio, no frills, as if we were sharing a mic in a room full of people.

Heading to Devon, land of my childhood, to play @barrelhousetotnes - this gig was sold out, but then I had to postpone, so now there are a few tickets up for grabs: same deal with @lighthousepoole tomorrow. C’mon down.
I’m going to try out my smallest travel rig yet, the Quad Cortex mini & DOD Mini Expression, mounted to the old Pedaltrain Nano. It all sounds huge in the house. I love the idea of a massively overpowered pedalboard the size of a good piece of haddock.
The southwest is my home, it’s a treat to drive back to my own bed after a show. @orkneyfolkfest next week might require a different arrangement

One of the best gigs in England: St Mary’s in Chester. I recorded the surprisingly-titled Live In Chester in this church. OH YES. Tonight is Sold Out and my touring pal @blairdunlop was needed elsewhere, so I’ll be playing two sets starting at 8pm.
