Oxfordshire’s brilliant Artweeks is in full swing in the city with North Oxfordshire starting this weekend coming!
Lots of artists - 17 I think - exhibiting in Charlbury - so do come and make a day of it if you!43 about! Our pubs are great and the lovely Charlbury Deli is also open so it’s to do!
I’m open from 10 ish on Saturday and Sunday morning this weekend. It feels like it’s ages away with the amount of things I have to do between now and then!

Hope you’re enjoying the green that seems to now be all around us as spring slowly moves on. I’m sat outside as I write this so was inspired to post something a bit more ‘green’! It’s a colour that has become more popular with me as my work has evolved over the years.
I’ll be open for Oxfordshire Artweeks from Saturday the 9th until the 17th - i’m closed for a few days in the week and have a tonne of printing to do but do come and say hello if you’re up for a wander in the Cotswolds and see lots of lovely artwork. I made a new piece of artwork for Gillian Welch and David Rawlings show supporting Jason Isbell at Red Rocks last night. It’s always quite tricky working out what to draw for such an iconic venue which in itself is so amazing, hopefully I did the show justice with this piece.
I couldn’t make the show last night - bit of a long bus ride to be honest! - I did however make it out to Breuen Farm near where I’m based to see brilliant Susannah Clegg on Friday!
Hope you had an amazing time last night if you were at the show with Gillian, David and Jason Isbell. I’ve always loved this venue, hopefully I’ll get there for a show one day!

I know I will sound like i’m 4 million years old saying this….but how is it May already! This was my Kingfishr tour print from this time last year!
An old hippy once told me that time goes faster as you get older because as you get older, you get taller and your head is closer to the moon. Wisdom imparted to me at about 2am at The Somerset Cider Bus, Glastonbury 1995 - the last time in fact I ever drank cider!
Currently trying to clone myself as there is too much going on! - my wife less keen on this idea!

Went to see the brill Chris Helme last week in Kidderminster. Fantastic intimate show with great songs and stories in between - lots of tracks from Seahorses days among others. Picked up a copy of the record I illustrated and designed for him last year - well worth a listen. Chris continues his tour around the UK over the next few months.

It’s been a real honour to produce this new print for Jack’s show at The Royal Albert Hall on Thursday night. I’ve been making prints since 2019’s Singing to Strangers tour so it feels like a real moment to have done this particular print for him.
Thank you for all the messages I’ve received today, there will be some more prints for the show in May with any remaining being sold online afterwards.

I’ve always loved jumping in a train, I think it’s watching the world go by that I like the most. That you can’t do very much other than look out the window - I probably should be working but it’s nice to have the excuse not to! One of my favourite journeys was from York over to Lancaster, I loved going through all the towns and villages.
Anyway, I’ll stop rambling now. New cards just been made - more to follow - based on my silk screen print ‘Alone With You’. A number of summer shows and festivals beginning to take shape with some new prints and cards which is always nice!

So honoured to have produced these two illustrations for The Bitter Southerner for the piece on The Monteagle Sunday School Assembly - an interdenominational religious organization based in Monteagle, Tennessee by Dr Katharine K. Wilkinson. I particularly enjoyed it as the wonderful Gillian Welch on the front cover, also, my parents in law lived around 80 miles away from Monteagle in the late 1990s so I felt a bit of a connection to the area when thinking about the artwork!

Dermot Kennedy’s new record The Weight of the Woods came last Friday. It’s a fantastic record which takes you on a real journey both lyrically and sonically. I was lucky enough to have the lyrics in advance to use as a basis for the artwork for this print, great to hear those songs that once only read essentially as poems up until last week. Lovely song writing, amazing to have been able to make a print for the release of this record! Do give it a spin if you’ve not heard it already!
