Director @devonchivviscreative has a uniquely personal connection to the story at the heart of @theharvardfive . She not only grew up in one of the original Harvard 5 homes, but this film is also part of her legacy as a creative and architectural preservationist. We’re excited to announce a very special, limited screening of The Harvard 5 in just a couple of weeks at @brucemuseum , where you can meet and hear from Devon in person. Presented as part of @avontheatrefilmcenter ’s Avon On Tour, the screening will be followed by a live Q&A with Devon. Now on view at the Onera Foundation, the exhibition “The Cold War–Era US Embassy Program & Modern New Canaan” explores how modernist architects helped shape America’s image abroad during the Cold War. Featuring memorabilia, archival photographs, design objects and film from the era, the exhibition highlights the embassies in The Hague and Dublin, designed by Marcel Breuer and John Johansen, who lived and worked in New Canaan. The show traces how their experiments in modern domestic architecture in New Canaan preceded the bold modernism they later brought to the US Embassy Program.
