Designs for Fallout by #gnomonworkshopinstructor Alex Nice. Learn how to create Key Art in his two tutorials at Repost from @alexniceartist • On Fallout S2, I created the New Vegas Strip using @epicgames @unrealengine to help visualize the transformation of a North Hollywood shopping center into an apocalyptic version of New Vegas. Collaborating with the great Production Designer Howard Cummings, the DP, Art Director Dave Lazan, studio electricians, and an incredibly talented set design and graphics team, we were able to successfully create a great-looking film version of the classic Fallout: New Vegas game environment. Unreal Engine’s new MegaLights feature made the lighting design task painless. The film camera lens toolset was instrumental in shot blocking, and UE’s real-world sun latitude/longitude compass tool allowed us to visualize the real-world sun’s position and shadows on shoot day. Unreal Engine allowed us to cut through so many unknowns.
