“An Exquisite Horizon” by ART 494: Relief students (and instructor Daniella Napolitano) is now on display in the 2D Display Case Gallery! The class worked collaboratively to plan a dynamic horizon line connecting their individual 18x24-inch linocut prints together. You can see the exhibition now through the start of the fall semester during normal School of Art business hours.

You know how I said I like punching the paper for pin registration because didn’t want to waste time and tape. Well about that… Reduction print registration take 2!
Usually the hole punching method works! But my jig was too low compared to my block and the paper kept slipping out of the pins. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ aint that just the way?

Haven’t posted much in a while because things are ✨in progress✨ so I thought I’d made a short reel about how I set up my registration for woodblocks and thick mounted linoleum. It’s a bit of math (I sped through most of my calculations) but once you get everything measured, printing is a breeze! I have the plastic tabs that go with the pins but I much prefer using a hole punch because it saves me time and tape. My partner bought me this exactly 1/4" hole punch for my birthday a few years ago and it’s been one of my favorite gifts.

Also I didn’t measure anything accurately when doing this demo and cut the linoleum down with scissors. It’s a miracle the pattern lined up as well as it did. I kind of need a whole outfit with this print now.
