I need your help. I’ve been intentionally stepping back from social media to protect my mental health and create more space for things that feel meaningful and grounding. In place of scrolling, I’ve been channeling my time and energy into volunteering with local cat rescue organizations—work that has been both fulfilling and deeply rewarding. Being hands-on in helping vulnerable animals, supporting their care, and contributing to real, tangible outcomes has given me a renewed sense of purpose and connection. Through this journey, I recently had the incredible honor of being invited to join the board of a newly formed cat rescue organization founded by my mentor, Tallie Wood-Miller. It’s an opportunity I’m truly grateful for—not only to continue advocating for cats in need, but also to help shape the vision, strategy, and impact of an organization from the ground up. I’m excited to collaborate with a passionate team, expand our reach, and make a lasting difference in the lives of the animals and communities we serve. Feline AdvoCats Team Sacramento @felineadovcatssac provides accessible spay/neuter and TNR services and serves as a trusted connector, linking caregivers and community members with the resources and partnerships that control pet and community cat overpopulation and improve the lives of cats. Our small organization envisions a community where every cat is safe, cared for, and supported through accessible services, collaborative partnerships, and a shared commitment to humane population management. This is how you can help us. Please consider donating to our kick-off fundraiser on GoFundMe 🙂 Any help, like donating or sharing, gets us closer to our goal. Thank you in advance for your kindness and support. https://gofund.me/e1b492e0d

When I’m not shooting or editing weddings, I am fostering kittens! I have a new little guy to introduce you to who will be ready for adoption very soon. His name is Monty and he is what we call a Velcro kitten. He loves to play, purr, and pounce but what he loves most of all is to curl up on my chest and fall asleep. This little boy wants to be held and snuggled. He is crazy about my other cats and tries to wrestle them into submission. 🤭 He’s looking for his forever home. Could it be yours? Please share and help us find him a good home.

So, you’re thinking about eloping or having a big wedding, huh? Well, let me break it down for you in a way that only a small business owner like myself can. Eloping is like getting a secret menu item at a fancy restaurant - it’s intimate, saves you some serious cash, and leaves you feeling like a sneaky little rebel. Plus, who doesn’t love a good ol’ spontaneous adventure? On the flip side, having a big wedding is like throwing a massive party where you’re the VIP guest of honor. It’s a chance to celebrate with all your favorite people, make memories that’ll last a lifetime, and maybe even bust a move on the dance floor like nobody’s watching. Ultimately, whether you choose to elope or go big, just remember that it’s all about what feels right for you and your partner. So go ahead, follow your heart, and let’s make some magic happen! Cheers to love and laughter, Wendy

Sparkler exits are very on-trend. And why should that be? Who wouldn’t want to stroll hand in hand with your new life partner, basking in the warm glow of sparklers illuminating the faces of your loved ones? And… bonus! Does anyone else love the smell of sparklers? Sparkler exits also make great photos and are perfect for the closing pages of your wedding album. But… real talk: sparkler exits can be tricky! Things can go horribly wrong; the last thing you want on your wedding day is a trip to the emergency room. So, if you plan on investing in a sparkler exit, here is a *hot tip* from me to you. Choose the right size. The sparklers you get for the 4th of July are not going to work. Those sparklers are too short, too quick, and too smokey. The best sparkler size is the 36-inch long size, which burns for 3.5 minutes. These long-lasting sparklers are perfect for wedding sparkler pictures and longer wedding exits. If you plan on having over 150 guests for your event, you should use 36-inch sparklers. You can purchase 36-inch sparklers at Superior Celebrations. FEATURED REAL WEDDING // When love transcends different cultures and backgrounds, it’s a beautiful thing. And that’s exactly what happened for for Kiran and Timothy, and trying to incorporate both of their unique backgrounds proved to be an interesting, but not insurmountable challenge for the couple. Kiran explains, “Planning was a mix of excitement and challenges! Our favorite part was dreaming up how to blend our two cultures into one seamless celebration. But the toughest part was definitely keeping the budget in check while trying to incorporate all the unique elements we envisioned. Balancing what we wanted with what was practical took some careful decisions, and there were moments when it felt overwhelming. In the end, though, it all came together beautifully.” . The couple celebrated the day with a Sikh ceremony, followed by vegetarian lunch reception. Then in the afternoon they had an intimate Amish ceremony followed by a Western-style reception with dinner and dancing. Kiran says, “It was a true reflection of our journey and our families coming together.” . Hey there, party animal! So, you’re thinking of having a big wedding party, huh? Buckle up because it’s gonna be a wild ride! Here’s the scoop on the good and the not-so-good: Pros: Support System: More friends and family to back you up during the wedding chaos. It’s like having your personal cheer squad! More Celebration: Who doesn’t love a party? With a big group, the pre-wedding festivities will be off the charts! Variety of Personalities: Spice up your wedding with a diverse crew. It’s like assembling the Avengers of weddings! Help with Planning: Delegate those wedding tasks like a boss. You’ll be the master planner in no time! More Photos and Memories: Say cheese! With a big bridal party, your wedding album will be bursting at the seams with memories. More Gifts: Who doesn’t love presents? Get ready for a shower of gifts from your squad! Cons: High Costs: More people, more expenses. Your wallet might feel the burn, but hey, it’s all for love! Coordination Challenges: Wrangling a big group can be like herding cats. Expect some chaos, but it’s all part of the fun! Increased Drama: Drama llama alert! More people, more potential for fireworks. Buckle up! Pressure to Include People: The struggle is real. Choosing your squad can be tough, but remember, it’s your day! Limited Attention: With a big group, it’s like a wedding on shuffle mode. Everyone gets a turn, but it’s a whirlwind! Logistical Issues: Get ready for some logistical gymnastics. It’s all part of the adventure! Strain on Relationships: Keep calm and carry on. Personalities might clash, but love conquers all! Bottom Line: A big bridal party is like a rollercoaster ride—thrilling, a bit scary, but oh so worth it in the end. Get ready for the time of your life!! Cheers to love and laughter!
