#OnTopOfTables: “This work was created as an edible performance piece for the opening of a major exhibition on fertility,” shares Danish culinary artist and sculptor Johanne Stoffersen (@johanne_anastasia_stffrsn ). “I titled it BRISTEFÆRDIG (“Bursting” in English) to capture the sensation of overflowing with one’s own fertility. Twelve tables, each spilling over with dishes made from ingredients historically linked to fertility, formed a cyclical work that moved in a circle. New plates were constantly added as people ate, heightening the claustrophobia that can come with confronting fertility so directly.”
